Xbox 360: Returning Your Xbox 360 For Repair
Lots of people have been coming here searching for information about sending their Xbox 360 in to Microsoft for repair. My Xbox 360 is on it’s way back to me from being repaired, so I figured I’d post my experience with the repair process.
On March 24th, 2007 I contacted Microsoft Xbox customer support and was able to get the repair process started. My Xbox 360 was still suffering from the dreaded 3 red lights on the Ring Of Light at that time.
Upon initiatiating the repair process, I received an email from Microsoft confirming the repair process had begun. The email stated that I would receive another email once the next step in the repair process begins:
Dear Xbox Customer:
Thank you for contacting Xbox Customer Care. We have received your request for service. Please prepare your console and follow the instructions provided by our customer service department. You will receive an e-mail as soon as the next step in the process has begun.
Thank you,
Xbox Customer Care
The support agent I spoke with gave detailed instructions on what information to include in the box I returned my Xbox 360 in. I typed all the information out, printed it, and put it right on top of my Xbox 360 inside the box I shipped it in. Include this information when returning your Xbox 360 for repair:
- Support Reference # (provided by Xbox support agent).
- Xbox 360 serial number (from the back of your console).
- Your name.
- Your return shipping address.
It’s important that you DO NOT SEND YOUR HARD DRIVE, CONTROLLERS, OR MEMORY CARDS! If you send them in with your console you will probably never see them again. Make sure there’s not a game in the DVD drive. Take your hard drive off and make sure all memory cards are out before packing your Xbox 360 up. All you want to send in is your bare Xbox 360 console.
Once you have your Xbox 360 all packaged up along with the necessary information, you’re ready to ship. There seems to be quite a bit of confusion exactly where to send your Xbox 360 for repair. There’s lots of confusion because many of the Xbox support agents don’t speak english as their native language. It’s hard to understand a mailing address from someone with a thick Spanish accent. Now, I’m sure Microsoft has more than one repair center, so make sure to pay close attention when the agent gives you the address to send your Xbox 360 to. I was told to send my Xbox 360 to the following address, your support agent may provide you with a different address:
Repair Center
5700 South International Parkway
Door #18
McAllen, TX 78503
I just took my box to my local post office to ship. I shipped it using the Priority Mail service and purchased $200 worth of insurance coverage for $3.35. Total came to be about $18. Only took 4 days to get there, and that’s counting the weekend. Once they received the package at the repair center I got the following email:
Dear Customer,
We have received your Xbox at our service center. It is our priority to process your Xbox in a timely manner and to get it back to you as good as new. We will contact you as soon as we are finished so you can get ready to get back into the game!
Thanks,
Xbox Customer Care
Exactly two hours later, I got another email stating that my Xbox 360 had been fixed and was on it’s way home. The email said my Xbox 360 should be here in 2 to 5 days, it’d be great to have it before this weekend. They even gave me a UPS tracking number, but there’s nothing there other than a confirmation that the return shipping has been paid for. Hopefully some real tracking data will show up on it tomorrow.

Maybe someone has had this happen? My 360 elite got the RROD so I sent it to the repair center in Texas via their brown box. They had it for a few weeks and then one day (March 9) I call and the recording says “your repair has been completed and shipped, please allow 5 business days…” I expected to get it on Friday (March 14) but I didn’t so I call the 1-800# to get a tracking number so I can see where it is. They give me one but when I go to UPS’s website to check tracking all it says is “billing information received”. I had seen on some other boards where it will just say that all the way up to it being delivered to your door so I decided not to panic too much yet. I REALLY expected it Monday though (March 17) and it didn’t come again, so I called the 1-800# back to find out what is going on and they tell me that UPS gave them (Microsoft) an invalid tracking number and someone (from Microsoft) will call me in 3-5 business with a new tracking number. Does anyone have any idea what may be happening because the people at the 1-800# aren’t anywhere near as helpful as I’ve found these boards to be.
Yeah I got my new xbox back from the repair center. I was only worried. But no pyr0 I am not just a typical American, I looked at most of the posts and after just reading 100+ posts about you fighting with every last post, it gets old and is a waste of time and I can’t find what I was looking for because of it. Don’t judge me until you have all the facts.
Hey guys I got an email on Saturday saying that my repair was completed. When do you think I will be receiving it back??
Thanks
I have not received a tracking update since Friday Morning from Fedex and teh package is due tomorrow. I hate FedEx
Pvt. Moore
you dont have to put your name and address on the box.. they just ask if you can put your reference number on the box to make it easy for them to locate your package when it is received at the repair center.. you are somewhat leaving us uninformed about a few things such as the following…
1. when did you ship out your 360?
2. did you call the repair center before you sent it out to report your problem? if so they will have all of your information and they never mention anywhere that you have to put your name or address anywhere because all of your information is on the tracking code of the label that you were supposed to slap on the box which is to be delivered to the repair center. all that you need to put on the box(and you dont have to) is the reference number.
2. regardless of what all of the uninformed people tell you or will attempt to argue about for hours… you never receive a refurbished console in replace of your console that you send in to the repair center.. you either receive yours back if they were able to fix it or you get a brand new one and keep in mind that the brand new one doesnt necessarily have to be a console that was recently made.
3. call up 18004MYXBOX and ask them to tell you what is going on but before you do immediately after you get a representative ask for their supervisor as it is the only way you will get anywhere by calling the 1800 number.. explain to them that it is taking longer than usual..
so try to answer these questions to us and yourself before you post again and please try to be more detailed and most importantly try to read some of what were have been typing in this post over and over again for months now.. your answers are all here on this page.. you just didnt take the time to read it.. such a typical american… always wanting/demanding answers to the questions that are right in front of you… lol
I sent in my xbox a while ago and it was recieved by the repair center in McAllen, TX 2/14/08. Now I am worrying I won’t get a refurbished xbox back not only because it has been a good while but I also forgot to put my support reference number, my xbox 360 serial number and my name/address on my console inside the box I mailed it in. If that information isn’t on your console in the box while you then not receive a refurbished console back? Or will they still somehow know your address to send one, I don’t really know how that works fully.
considering they are using Fed Ex now…I sent it with Fed Ex.
Westside Raph:
Currently they are trying their best to get your 36 back to you within 3 weeks or less. Mine recently took 16 days which isn’t bad at all. You have to take it to the nearest UPS drop off center or pay $10 to have UPS come to your house and pick it up. I would not chose that method because it will more than likely tack on an extra day to the repair so just drive it to the nearest drop off location. You cant find them on http://www.ups.com .
Whats up guys…..Im going to copy and paste my last post which was from October of 2007
Westside Raph Oct 1st, 2007 at 12:49 pm
Mine is still running smooth….I got it back on Sept 11….Still doing awesome
Well how long has it been now? I got this 360 back on September 11th as I said above. and I havent read all the replies since then, but I am back here for no other reason than to confirm that this piece of trash is dead again. It happened Monday…so what…..5 months? 5 months!! Wow…should I be impressed? Anyway…Im glad I didnt buy Lost Odyssey like I was planning to. Then I would be even more pissed. but the coffin ERRRR Box is going to arrive today and I dont know how long it takes these days…2 weeks? 1 week? and I see they are using FedEx how……where do I drop this thing off?

Pyro:
Thanks for the info! I ruptured my Achilles so I didn’t get a chance to respond. With that said, I received a phone call on Saturday afternoon from a gentleman by the name of Anthony. He stated to me that “Coy” no longer works at that Office, and to direct all further inquiries to him. I asked him if Coy got fired and he stated that he has no knowledge of where he went.
I received my Play and Charge Kit, but still no Controller’s!!!!!
Bob:
My point of once of my previous posts is that you must simply act as if you keep getting the 3 Red Lights the whole time that the phone support techs are walking you through everything. I have done this with 2 previous Xbox 360 consoles and happen to know someone who works for Microsoft(not the Xbox support line) and he has told me that once you ship it out to them regardless if the 3 Red Lights apppear when the console is being serviced or not it must be repaired. And as obvious as it sounds it’s true because I had bought 2 non-working used 360 consoles for $10 each off of ebay and had them repaired(actually they couldn’t be repaired so I was given 2 brand new consoles). Call them tomorrow or later if you still have time before they close and do what I just told you. There ya go…getting your moneys worth. :)

Just one thing to add, if you get the three red rings AND your console is one year old (out of the initial warranty period), call them to get it it sent in. They will want to have you do some troubleshooting and you may get screwed like me (see my previous note). As they walk you through the troubleshooting, don’t actually do it, just say yea yea, nothing yet. Still red rings. That way you will qualify for your 3 year warranty. Be warned in advance.
Got one for you, was playing R.B. Vegas and the game started freezing. I would re-boot and start playing again and then it would freeze. Finally, after booting up again, I got the three red rings of death. I called M.S. and the guy talked me through some troubleshooting which involved removing the hard drive and entering some codes into the memory. No problem, the red rings went away and the game came up. Today I started having the freezing problem and sometimes the console would not even boot up. I called again and went through the same deal with the rep. She said I could send the console for repair but it will costs me $99 since it is past the 1 year warranty (by a month). I asked about the 3 year red ring warranty and she said that since the red rings are not showing up anymore, too bad. I told her that the reason I called the day before was because of the red rings. I even gave her the call reference number the first person gave me, she looked it up, agreed that I had initially had a red ring problem but since I don’t currently have red rings, just a console that freezes and won’t boot up then the 3 year warranty does not apply. Gotta love a company that really stands behind their product like that. Never again, when I need a new computer it will be a Mac, when I need a new game console – Play Station. They have lost me for life.
Rob:
The United States Xbox 360 repair center is located in McAllen, Texas. All that you have to do is call 1-800-4MY-XBOX and open up a case and they will send out a box to you via UPS and it will contain a label for you to slap on the box after you put your 360 in it.
There is no need to worry about the address because it will already be printed on the label.
Does anyone know where they will have my send my xbox if I live near chicago? Please tell me there is a repair center around here because I have only had my xbox for a month and its already broken I’m not to happy about that and don’t feel like waiting a long time to get my system back.
pyr0, you know, in thinking about all of your adolescent nonsense I am tired of wasting time with you and ruining what was a decent forum. If I did not already have an obligation to my corp and country I would be glad to just show you what the REAL world is about. Maybe when I return from my tour I will look you up, but right now I have more important things to attend to, until then enjoy the freedom we provide.
FYI- I am addressed as SGTMJR, not Don

pyr0, it is apparent you have been taught well to be the little bicth you are, I’m sure you daddy is proud.
That post had nothing to do with me but you continue with your BS again. You may think you are being a badass, but in fact you don’t know who you are talking to, I am not some kid.
Titus:
I have spoke to about 20 people so far who have been promised everything from free plug n play chargers to controllers and 3 month Xbox live cards due to the fact that their 360 was gone longer than a month and Microsoft told them that they would replace their subscription rounded to the closest month. From what I have learned is that apparently the low-level customer service technicians are the ones who are promising the people the ‘sorry we are terrible at doing our jobs’ free gifts for aggravated yet loyal customers who have been experiencing nothing but problems since day one. I’m willing to bet a blowjob from Don’s mom that if you call them and ask where your 2 free controllers are they will say ‘What are you talking about?’.
Here’s my advice: Call 1-800-4MY-XBOX and immediately ask for a supervisor…as soon as he gets on…ask him to put on his boss and so on until you get to the highest rank in that office of Australians and Pakis. From there…explain everything and then tell him that you are going to record the call. If I were you I would record the call from the beginning just like they state they might. Then raise hell until they finally decide what to do to satisfy you.
This has worked with a few people I know as far as getting the 3 month Xbox Live cards that they were promised.
Im 1005 serious about this so go give it your best shot and let me know what the outcome is.
pyr0
Damn ya’ll! Let’s get back to the issue at hand…They told me a month ago that I would be getting two free controller’s…and have yet to receive anything! You gotta love M$
Don:
I always knew you were a faggot and now you are a snitch and a professional gamer? lmao. Ever heard of a proxie? Or how to spoof an ip address? Completely untraceable…just as I am now. Like I said, I’m in Tokyo and the ip I’m using is from some city in Ohio or Pennsylvania. One DDoS coming up. lmao…
Whatever pyr0, 3 post crying like a baby again, first off you don’t know me, or who I am, or what I do but when the black car pulls into your drive and you have to explain to daddy what you did, and why you are being prosecuted by Homeland Security you MIGHT understand.
The ONLY thing you have gotten right so far is I am not a hardcore gamer, I do it for REAL. My 360 (or as you say 260) is just for fun.
Don:
Let’s jsut stop this. You don’t mention me, I don’t mention you. Problem Solved.
And I’ll say it one more time in case you didn’t hear me again. Keep my name out of your mouth and don’t even mention me in the third person. Leave and don’t come back.
Don:
I thought I told you to shut your little whiney girl mouth. I am always here to help people regardless of what you think. You need to stop living like a soft fragile little woman and wake up. It’s 2008 and the last time I checked all the soft people in the world were labeled pussies and outcasted from society. If Microsoft asked him to send out his power cord, I would know every reason that they would ask him to. The reason I was busting his balls is because people just come here and ask retarded questions without providing others with and info about the issue they are having hence the reason this webpage takes 20 seconds to load up because of all the half asses questions. Like I said, keep you mouth shut and find another forum to post on. Next time you whine about me or run your mouth I’m gonna cross script this site and get your ip address and DDoS your isp resulting in you having to disk out $$$ to fix the problem. And yes Don, say what you want….it can be done. Leave forever and this whole problem goes away.
p.s. watch your god damn back.
I just asked for Pyr0 to show some respect to the people who post here, guess that was too much to ask AND still is.
Tyler, his reply to your request to stop the nonsence is just another attack on me, so we all see who is the cause.
If you read through the above posts you will see that pyr0 doesn’t even know why M$ would ask for the power cord also so it is pretty clear he does not know what he is talking about when it come to a 360 repair and just came here to start a bunch of off topic BS. I actually was here to help others. But there is always one that has to sart a bunch of BS on forums.
To all those who came here for help with their 360 problems good luck with it, this WAS a pretty good place util pyr0 started in.
If you’ve already opened your system, you can fix it with an xbox repair guide.
LMMFAO…Anyway’s I got my shit, now let’s see if they come through and get me the shit that they promised me for free!?!?

Tyler:
You are totally right. We should stop. I wasn’t the one who started it, it was Don, Because he thought that I needed a father figure in my life. HAHA. He was the one who started with the name calling and so on. Imagine that. My father is retired and living happily. Anyways, I know there is going to be a comeback from him so I give my new bitch Don full permission to get his last little gayer than he is comeback and then we can stop this and hopefully he will learn his lesson….Nobody cares what fags think so Don, stop posting.
As always…anyone who needs the real help and not just simple reminders from everyone who already posted…you know who to ask.
Later everyone.
pyr0, Don: Please, that’s enough. This isn’t a place for you two to attack each other. Just leave it alone, please.
Don:
Like I said..you are a bitch. I will beat your ass any day of the week. You amount to nothing so do us all a favor like I said and stay off this message board.
p.s. now you are my bitch. lmao
FOTFLMAO what a simple minded asshole. You are a legend in your own mind.
WHATEVER tough guy, you can’t even beat your own self off.
This is a forum for 360 repair NOT for assholes claiming to be bad ass.
What are you like 12 years old
Don:
Shut your mouth before I make you my bitch. What the hell are you anyways…the hardcore gamer with manners? I bet if you stepped in the ring with me I’ll drop you in 15 seconds flat…just enough time for me to get my hands around your neck you little chump. Don’t ever tell me what to do again or I’ll personally come to your house and break each and every one of your fingers and beat the fuck out of your mom too. Keep trying to be peoples father and see what happens.
As far as you stating that I am telling people to commit fraud….I am helping these people out and they will do what they want. After all, Microsoft deserves it. People are out to rip off Microsoft the same way Microsoft has been ripping off us since the day the 360 came out. You, on the other hand, are a pussy. I bet you are one of it comes to helping out frustrated gamers with my upbeat and sarcastic and sometimes unfriendly attitude while your post is unnecessary in a sense that either myself or many others have already discussed everything you had to say. Don, You are useless as a hooker with syphilis and you know that as well.
If you personally read all of the posts like I have you would realize that with every few posts a new discussion is brought up anyways.
You wanna know the sad thing….? I bet everyone who reads this gets a kick out of me making you look like the little fragile girl that you are and it’s just a matter of time before the people start posting back taking my side immediately. Face it chump, you time here was wasted and you know it. Don’t come back, or it just shows that you really wanna be my bitch >:-)
My advice…until you become chat moderator, keep your simple minded mouth shut.
p.s. I’m better than you, softy. Lolz. Go crawl in a hole and never come out ya little girl.
Pyro, what does having a cold have to do with your profanity???? There is no real reason to speak to the other people here like that.
GROW UP
STANDARD turn around for a 360 repair is three weeks to ONE MONTH if you do everything right. ( note STANDARD turnaround – sometimes it is faster sometimes it is slower but USUALLY it is ONE MONTH. ) I am NOT misguiding people, CALL M$ and ask THEM. your last post was in NO WAY helpful or meaningful so if all you want to do is run your rude mouth, just shut up until you actually have something pertinent to say.
AND BTW keep your advice of telling someone else to commit fraud to yourself.
Don:
First off.. only fuckin idiots who don’t follow the directions that Xbox gave them have to wait a month or more to get their 360 repaired. Your are misguiding all of the people that come to this page. The people that you talk to when you call 1-800-4MY-XBOX don’t work for Microsoft at all. They work for a marketing company which also collects debts and mortgage payments. They are trained to read from a script when you ask them question. That’s why if you ask them a question that they are unfamiliar with it takes them so long because they have to look through their script to look for your question.
Aaron Chan:
It’s obvious that one of two things have occurred; one being that you bought your 360 used and the previous owner has already registered it more than 1 year ago or you registered it more than 1 year ago. Therefore the only way your 360 is eligible to get repaired is if it’s experiencing the 3 Red Lights. Normal 360 repairs have been limited to 1 year while a 3 year extended warranty due to the wide spread 3 Red Lights issue has taken effect last year. So you are going to have to call 1-800-4MY-XBOX and tell them that your 360 is fucking up like everyone else’s. Here’s a little tip… even if your 360 is not experiencing the 3 Red Light, tell them that it is anyways. There is no way that they can tell if you have gotten them or not. And as I mentioned.. call them to schedule your repair, don’t be a dipshit and do it online. That’s why half the morons that posted comments on this page had to wait more than 1 month to get their 360 back. Either way.. call them and don’t be a pussy and take no for an answer.
Sorry for the language everyone.. I’ve just arrived at Tokyo from Pittsburgh and I have a cold. So much for my vacation.
I went to the xbox support page to register my console for repairs, but it says that it is out of warranty. what do i do now??
OK folks, I am going to try and summarize the experience you will have with M$.
The short version of ALL of the above is
1- it WILL take any where from 1 week to 3 months for M$ to get, repair ( replace ), and send back your 360
2- The people here do not work for M$
3- The people who DO work for M$ are complete idiots ( specially trained to be that way ) when it comes to trying to find out any info on your 360.
4) don’t question why you are sending in anything, just do it
AND for the next fool ( I know you are out there ) and you are going to ask again- rather than READ
IT IS 1-800-4-MYXBOX
Ever wonder why it is called a 360???? because it goes full circle. Created at M$ sent out to the consumer, and back to M$ to be fixed, then back to the consumer, then back to M$, well you get the idea
Dan, You hit it right on the nail! They requested it this time. The first two times that I sent my Xbox in, they didn’t request it, but this last time, they requested me to send it in along with my Xbox.
Update…I received my Xbox console today! We’ll see how long it takes for them to send the rest!?
Depending on the “issue” you are having with the 360 sometimes it is required to send the power cord with it.
Titus:
I’m just curious as to why you sent out your power cord in the first place..?
Ok…her’s the new update. I received a phone call from Coy, the gentleman that I previously reported that I spoke with in regards to my Xbox. He stated to me that my Xbox is currently in transit. It should be here on Wednesday (Tomorrow), but…here’s the kicker…they DID NOT send the cord to the power supply. So not only did they not send my Xbox with the power supply and cord, they sent the power supply out in a different box. They didn’t send out the cord until today! So, i’ll get my Xbox tomorrow…SUPPOSEDLY…still won’t be able to play it until, i’m assuming by next friday…a week from this friday. Why the Fawk would they not send a cord with the power supply? I don’t get it?! Dealing with these people is the worst experience of my life! Ok, back to my saga…I tell dude that I want something for free of course and he tells me what I can get for free. I end up requesting the “Play and Charge” charger. I tried to request the wireless network adaptor for the rear of the Xbox, but they don’t give them out for free. WTF can we do as customers to insure that this doesn’t happen in the future?
I know what Titus is going through. I sent my original Xbox out in early Oct. I received my new Xbox back on Nov. 28. It died on Nov. 29. I sent it back and it was received by Microsoft on December 14. It is know Dec. 28 and I am not up and running. I did receive a different Xbox (3rd different one) but no power supply. Called Microsoft and my complaints fell on deaf ears. I guess I will get my powersupply in about a week. Most likely I will sell the unit and continue to play my Playstation 3.
LMFAO- not at you but with you ( even though you are not laughing now ) but in time you will, TRUST ME. I’ve been there before, the experience you are going through is NOT uncommon. You will read about another person going through this and laugh, thinking I remember that, and how damn agravating it is to deal with those yahoos.
Incase you guys didn’t notice…it’s been 2 days shy of 2 months!
Alright ya’ll, here’s my story…I bought my Xbox back in December of 2006. From then until November of 2007, I have had to return my Xbox in 3 times! I am currently waiting for my 4th Xbox in a little over a year. So Xox received my box on November 27th 2007. I called on Novemeber 29th just to make sure they received it and was told “yes, sir it shows that it arrived on the 27th.” So I in turn asked “ok, so how long do you think it’ll take to repair my console”? Dude says “we’ve shortened up our repair time sir, and it usually only takes about 2-3 weeks”! I’m Flabbergasted at the thought of them gettin’ my console back to me so soon, so I tell him cool and leave it at that. OK so acouple weeks fly by and no Xbox…So I decide to call them and I get told my the Indian named “RED” that my Xbox has been “LOST”! I ask him WTF is goin’ on and how soon will they be getting me a new Xbox. He tells me that he is unaware of that and so I inform him that I would like to speak with his Supervisor…20-30 minutes later, I speak with some dude, again with an Indian accent named Jr. and he again confirms that my Xbox has been lost. I asked him WTF is going to happen now and he refers me to his Supervisor. He get’s my information (cell #) and states that his Sup. will call me the next day at around 2:30pm. The next day arrives…no phone call, So I give it another day and again no phone call. So i’m FUMING by now and I decide to call Xbox again. When I called, I spoke with some dude…again from India…and I give him all my information and he states to me “sir, I’m not showing that we received your Xbox yet!” I tell him, “Man WTF are you talking about? I have called you guys on numerous occasions in regards to this (I know it’s gettin’ boring, but keep reading) and they all confirm that you guy’s have received it on November 27th and now your telling me that you guy’s haven’t received it”! Then my phone loses reception!!!! My wife then calls ‘em cuz i’m fawkin’ HOTT now! She speaks with an AMERICAN now from Texas I think and she was being cool as hell. She has to type out a whole new ticket for me cuz apparently the old one was “messed” up. oh yeah, and she did confirm that Xbox received it on 11-27-07. She gets me to her Supervisor and he is cool as hell, plus he’s American as well. He tells me that he’s gonna ask/request to his Supervisor to try and get me a new Xbox for my trouble’s. I tell him “Man, if you can hook me up, i’ll be indebted to you!” He takes more info down and we hang up on good terms. The next day or two days later I get a call from this dude telling me that it’s the American Supervisor’s, Supervisor. So I’m like Coo! He was a complete DICKHEAD! He tried tellin’ me that they infact didn’t lose my Console, but it just hasn’t been found yet. I ask him if he’s spoken with ANYONE from the repair center and he states “no, not yet”! I then ask him “Then How do you know if they didn’t lose my console”? He says “sir, I AINT tryin’ to argue with you, I just told you that it AINT lost”! I then repeated what I said previously and he just said “this isn’t going anywhere, so i’m sending you to another supervisor”! I’m Flabberghasted! Now today’s 01-25-2008 and still no XBOX! I received a call from a gentleman by the name of Coy. He states that it’s on it’s way, but he saw the weight on the confirming email that he received and he thinks that they failed to place my Power Supply in with my Console! WTF people? Why are they so difficult to deal with? I wish they would have just re-imbursed us all with our money back!
In response to Austin’s comments:
You’re right, it does make a difference when your xbox was manufactured. Newer 360′s have a 65nm processor rather than a 90nm one, and it’s considerably cooler and less power hungry. Microsoft has also made changes to the main board; one standout change is one less transistor. On the heat sink, there no longer is a copper pipe running through.
Microsoft has had plenty of time to address these problems… I just don’t understand why they can’t do more rigorous testing before releasing a “new” model. If newer xboxs are still crashing, there’s definitely a problem.
Alright, thanks for the response. It’s just frustrating when my xbox breaks the day I get it.
Austin Hallock:
It’s obvious that yesterday was still part of the weekend. Bill Gates doesn’t work on the weekends and you know it. And if you read my posts then you would have realized that after they say it arrives that if can take up to 5-7 days to get fixed and sent back out. When it says that it was received that means it has arrived at the receiving dock of the repair center. It still has to get invoiced and then repaired and then it must be sent back down to the dock and then it must wait for a FedEx truck to come and pick it up. There ya go…5-7 days give or take. Just like I said.
And if you payed close enough attention you would have noticed that I mentioned 2 things, one that Xbox is now sending the 360s back via FedEx and I also mentioned that their service sucks. From tracking your 360 to the E.T.A.. FedEx doesn’t give 2 shits about people who chose the 5-7 day ground delivery method. As everyone has stated, it takes about 3 weeks give or take a day or two from the day you send out your 360 until you get it back.
Secondly I have mentioned that Xbox also doesn’t keep people up to date as they should. After all when you call the 800 number you are talking to people in the f***ing Middle East. What do you expect?
So if you sent your 360 out on January 13 you are not going to get it back until at least January 29. You are just gonna have to ride it out. I know it can be frustrating but that’s part of the agreement when you buy a 360 just like anything else from Microsoft.
Pyr0, I did read all the posts, and if you read my post, you would realize I mentioned that:
“I read earlier in these comments that it can be as little as 2 days, but as of right now it’s been 5 days – not that I’m too angry about that however (especially considering 2 days were the weekend).”
I’ll highlight that for you in case you’re having some vision problems:
“I read earlier in these comments that it can be as little as 2 days”
I realize yours took 3 days there rather than 2, so next time I’ll be sure to take extensive notes so I don’t mess that up again…
Mine has been there 5 days, which is more than 3 which is the only reason I came here to ask.
As for your second reply, the newer ones apparently are made better with the whole heatsink issue, possibly newer parts ect…I don’t expect it to be a brand new one, I was just wondering if the date is in the general vicinity which it appears yours was. I don’t want to get a refurb from Feb of 06 vs Dec of 07 because the 1st one will most-likely be more prone to issues.
Oh and by the way, this isn’t technically a ‘forum’, it’s a blog entry.
Have a nice day
