Democrats Rewriting History

President Bush shot back at his critics in his Veteran’s Day speech. Well put, Mr. President. What took you so long?

I see this "Free Frank Warner" fellow is going around making the identical "talking point" post to several blogs! What's the matter, no thoughts of your own?

It's not even a good post. Saying that most dems voted for the war because WMD says NOTHING about the motivations of the rest, much less the president, a logic flaw only an idiot or a DemocRAT would miss. Of course those same dems were claiming in speeches and elsewhere long before the war (and even before Bush took office) that Saddam had WMD. In fact not ONE elected DemocRAT publicly questioned that conclusion before the war.

Bush made one big mistake in today’s speech. He accidentally said Saddam’s possession of WMDs was the only reason for the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq.

He said the Democrats in Congress had seen the same intelligence he had seen on Saddam having WMDs, and “THAT’S WHY” they voted to support removing Saddam from power. That’s why? That’s it?

How about ending Saddam’s repression? How about creating a democracy? How about stopping Saddam’s support for terrorists? How about punishing Saddam’s failure to return Kuwaiti POWs? How about Saddam’s failure to cooperate with the arms inspectors?

Whoever wrote that speech was a little too sloppy.
