Lots of people have been coming here searching for information about sending their Xbox 360 in to Microsoft for repair. My Xbox 360 is on it’s way back to me from being repaired, so I figured I’d post my experience with the repair process.
On March 24th, 2007 I contacted Microsoft Xbox customer support and was able to get the repair process started. My Xbox 360 was still suffering from the dreaded 3 red lights on the Ring Of Light at that time.
Upon initiatiating the repair process, I received an email from Microsoft confirming the repair process had begun. The email stated that I would receive another email once the next step in the repair process begins:
Dear Xbox Customer:
Thank you for contacting Xbox Customer Care. We have received your request for service. Please prepare your console and follow the instructions provided by our customer service department. You will receive an e-mail as soon as the next step in the process has begun.
Thank you,
Xbox Customer Care
The support agent I spoke with gave detailed instructions on what information to include in the box I returned my Xbox 360 in. I typed all the information out, printed it, and put it right on top of my Xbox 360 inside the box I shipped it in. Include this information when returning your Xbox 360 for repair:
- Support Reference # (provided by Xbox support agent).
- Xbox 360 serial number (from the back of your console).
- Your name.
- Your return shipping address.
It’s important that you DO NOT SEND YOUR HARD DRIVE, CONTROLLERS, OR MEMORY CARDS! If you send them in with your console you will probably never see them again. Make sure there’s not a game in the DVD drive. Take your hard drive off and make sure all memory cards are out before packing your Xbox 360 up. All you want to send in is your bare Xbox 360 console.
Once you have your Xbox 360 all packaged up along with the necessary information, you’re ready to ship. There seems to be quite a bit of confusion exactly where to send your Xbox 360 for repair. There’s lots of confusion because many of the Xbox support agents don’t speak english as their native language. It’s hard to understand a mailing address from someone with a thick Spanish accent. Now, I’m sure Microsoft has more than one repair center, so make sure to pay close attention when the agent gives you the address to send your Xbox 360 to. I was told to send my Xbox 360 to the following address, your support agent may provide you with a different address:
Repair Center
5700 South International Parkway
Door #18
McAllen, TX 78503
I just took my box to my local post office to ship. I shipped it using the Priority Mail service and purchased $200 worth of insurance coverage for $3.35. Total came to be about $18. Only took 4 days to get there, and that’s counting the weekend. Once they received the package at the repair center I got the following email:
Dear Customer,
We have received your Xbox at our service center. It is our priority to process your Xbox in a timely manner and to get it back to you as good as new. We will contact you as soon as we are finished so you can get ready to get back into the game!
Thanks,
Xbox Customer Care
Exactly two hours later, I got another email stating that my Xbox 360 had been fixed and was on it’s way home. The email said my Xbox 360 should be here in 2 to 5 days, it’d be great to have it before this weekend. They even gave me a UPS tracking number, but there’s nothing there other than a confirmation that the return shipping has been paid for. Hopefully some real tracking data will show up on it tomorrow.

Microsoft no longer gives you a box. Found this cool start up though that will send you an xbox sized box so you don’t have to go to the post office.

Okay so I had issues with the 360 freezing. so i requested for microsoft to repair it. They are currently shipping out a shipping label to me. I just have questions about what is suppose to go inside the box (as in paper work). and do i just tape the shipping label outside of the box?
i know its confusing but this is what i done they send u an email saying different methods of sending yoir 360 yo them eg Ups etc… and then they send you an email with your xbox label n where its meant to go you print that out get a box that fits your xbox yape itt up how ever it dont matter if its 2 safe because if you go on the microsoft website n go to term & conditions it says if ur xbox drops out anything lik that you will be held responsible! but.. bak to the email you have 2 print out u tape it on top of your 360 and write FRAGILE on the box not the later. an arrange a pick up from UPS they dnt run on weekebds! an they pick your 360 up from your door step for free !!!! an dilever it to germany (thats wer mine went) an in 3-4 days you will recieve another email saying your xbox has arrived and is in the proccess of getting fixed and thatsvwere i am so i cannot be mo help than that.
hopefully i was clear n if you want more info you may email me on deaglo@msn.com.

i sent my xbox for a repair cos of 3 red rings on the 27th decemeber 2009. i only just found out about the tracking number/method. when i typed it in on the ups website
its says
Error: Label is unavailable — all the packages of the shipment have been sent to the destination address
does that mean it been delivered to microsoft
Just talked to xbox today. This is the second time it will be fixed for RROD. First time it was free about 1 year ago. They emailed the shipping label but never mentioned the price or if it would cost me this time. looking on the site it says my Xbox360 is now out of warranty. They never mentioned when I would have to pay for the repair. Is it after its fixed and about to be returned?
my xbox is three years old and im well out of warranty but cos the red rings are a fault by microsoft they give u a 3 year extended warranty just for the 3 red rings so u shouldn’t have to pay nothing
Repair Center
5700 South International Parkway
Door #18
McAllen, TX 78503
first of all, it’s not door #18 anymore. the correct one is door #22. Anyway, this repair center will be closing soon. i give it another month or 2. i provide security for this facility. according to the supervisor and some employees the undisclosed date will be dec 8, 2009 but they have said it will close a couple of times before and never did.
email: mid-toker@hotmail.com
i bought my xbox in 2006 and it just now crapped out on me the three red rings,so i called microsoft and even though my one year warranty ended they are still fixing it for free which is awesome. my xbox lasted 4 yrs i think that may be a new record
Lol mine to i was SOOO pissed cause i thought it was screwed she said she could do something i wanted to find where she was and hug her loll mines since 2006 too
Hey I work for Jabil in McAllen. Which guard are you?
i just called them at 6 and they said tht they’ll send me the prepaid postage stamp nd i have to print it….. also they said i have to send it to ups but my bro in law has not had a good history with them because he said tht theyll prolly harm my xbox nd xbox customer care wont fix it.. so idk wat to do so anyone with info can u write back. any thing apreciated.
UPS is a pretty legit company. My aunt works for them and they’re usually the ones who handle most of the packages i order from Amazon and have never had a problem with them. They’re usually pretty quick and I’ve never received a damaged box. Plus, if you’re worries about it, you can always buy insurance.
Do I have to call first before mailing back for repair?
And what is the address and what information should I include. Thanks!!! Please help!
Yes Lynn, call first. Call 1-800-4MY-XBOX. They will tell you everything you need to include.
I have sent a request online and out in al the info, when I hit submit it said im sorry, we can not furfill this request right now (somthing like that) then it said try again later or call out costumer service which is my last choice, so I closed the window then tried again and it said that my serial number has already been registerd. What does this mean and what will happen next? Thank you
Well…..call support up then! Are you afraid to talk to someone on the phone?
wats the cost of a repair 3 lites nothing on tv screen.
Or total cost.
http://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/nxe/repairfaqs.aspx
I’m sure it depends on your particular Xbox and where you ship it from, but the total cost of my repair (Same problem as you’re having) was just under $110.
I just got the 3 rings 3 days ago my repair box is coming in tomarrow. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what to do if I only have a custom faceplate and the origional one like broke. Should i send it in without one. Or just send it in and get a new one?
Do u need to include the receipt?
Kevin…..I don’t think you need to include one I just packed mine up and sent it. It didn’t say it in the instructions.
What state are you in and if its not New York how long do you think it will take im guessing 1 week
I followed all the instructions to a “T”, and I’m going to the UPS store to send it in right now. I bought my 360 in January of ’06 and it just crapped out with the RRoD in August of ’08. That’s gotta be some kind of record… Well, I hope I get it back soon, wish it luck. Peace.
not a record mines from jan 06 and it broke today at jan 2010
My son purchased an XBox in December of 2007, and it recently stopped working. I have been fighting Microsoft for 3 weeks trying to get a return label to get it fixed. All I get is the run around. I have become so disturbed about the matter that I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I don’t know how all of you people managed to get your systems repaired, but you must know something that I don’t.
Okay well… if you got 3 red lights when you turn on your xbox… dont try calling 1800-4my-xbox they are full of crap… they make up a whole bunch of excuses on why they wont be able to repair it. so just go on xbox.com register your xbox on the site , and file a repair with the xbox and shipping label all payed for. box will come in 4 days – 7 days for repair – 5 days for delivery to you.
sorry to bother, but im having doubts and i was wondering if like you have a xbox 360 for 2 years, will it cost? and what else does it needs?
i hope somebody can answere me this questions.
it is going to cost $10,000 for and shiping is anouther 100 that is it
I just sent my 360 in about 3 days ago yeah the day GTA-4 came out for RROD and i was wondering if they will send me back a new one with the HDMI port in the back and the new processor i hope they do cause im missing on valuable GTA4 time right now microsoft should send me an Elite 4real 4real
I had my 360 for about 2 years, anyway a couple months ago i was playing cod4 when i get this psychedelic color pattern on the screen. i tell my friends i have to restart my console somethings wrong. i restart it and no video just sound. so i call up my friend and told him what happened. i called microsoft they want $100 for repair and i have no money at all. by the way they told me that the red ring of death is for hardware failures. what the hell is it called when the video chip which is hardware fails. microsoft=bull***t. so i asked to talk to the manager and then they tell me its only for some hardware malfunctions. Wait it gets better, thinking i could get a new graphics card i open up the 360 and find out its a f***ing intagrated GPU(graphic processing unit) inagrated means built into the motherboard. so i look on the internet for the Xenos/R500 GPU none sold anywhere not even on ebay.
also my friend the sameone i called that day just had a hardware malfunction lol,im going to cry.
Piston Honda:
I don’t know if you got the memo before sending in your 360 but they tell you that if you have a custom faceplate to not include it with your 360 because you will not get it back. My guess is that someone kind enough in the repair center noticed that you included a faceplate and since it was discarded he or she decided to give you a game for free. It wouldn’t be the first time I heard this happen before but hey, a free game is a free game.
Sent my Xbox in 15 days ago and got it back today. I did however send in a custom Indy Colts faceplate. I had no other plate because the original one got lost so I said oh well they can have it. Anyway I did’nt get my faceplate back but did recieve a brand new Xbox manufactured on March 17th 2008 and NBA Live 08 and a free month of Xbox live gold. Just wondering if anyone else has recieved a free game. I am very pleased with Microsoft.
It finally happened! I got “my” 360 back yesterday. A mere 73 days from my initial call to them. It’s a refurbished one and they (of course) just gave me 1 month of Live for free. Woo… I played it last night for a while and it’s working good so far. It was funny, the UPS guy asked me “what’s in these boxes anyway? I see a lot of them and they all require signatures.” Just shows how many of these break…
Day 66 and still nothing. Microsoft called me 8 days ago and told me they’d be sending me another one in “a day or two” and when they did I’d get a tracking number but of course I haven’t heard anything since then. Terrific
GOing on six weeks here and all they can tell me is they show it was received but now they can’t find it. This is the most terrible service I have EVER had with anything I’ve ever purchased! I had my xbox a total of 3 days and played maybe 4 hours on it before it crapped out. The kicker is that I purchased the extended warranty through Target and they wouldn’t honor it because they said it is a well known manufacturer defect!!!!!! Microsoft is bullshit.
Just updating my situation. It’s been 52 days since my repair process was started. 14 business days since my console “allegedly” was repaired and shipped back to me (Microsoft says to wait 5 business days). Everytime I call MS I get the same old run around and excuses so I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau the other day and “maybe” that will get their asses in gear and actually get me my 360 back….
Slo, as of now my xbox I recieved from them is still up and working. No problems so far, good luck with you supervisor.
Dean, that sucks that it took them so long on yours. Dealing with them is just next to impossible. I talked to a “supervisor” today and he assured me that he would take ownership of my problem and resolve it…..we’ll see. Do you still have the same refurb they sent you and if so, how is it? Any problems with that one yet? I think that’s one of my biggest concerns right now, is that when I get it it’s going to RROD in the 1st five minutes. Thanks for telling me your story, it sucks but it’s kind of cool to be able to talk to someone else who’s gone through this.
Slo… The console they sent back to me was a refurb one without a hardrive or anyhting. You would think they could’ve sent me a complete xbox for waiting so long. The only extra thing I recieved from them was 1 free month of xbox live. Wow 1 month for the 4 months I missed. Thanks alot Micro$oft. Hopefully its quicker for you.
I sent my xbox in for repair and recieved a different xbox back but with no hard drive. They kept my hard drive. When I phoned they said not to send any cables or controllers thats all. When I called customer support after recieving the xbox back they could not help me and would have a supervior phone me – this never happened. When I phone customer service again I was called a lier one time, they hung up on me another time. I have been calm untill now. PLEASE CAN SOME ONE HELP!!!
Thanks Dean. I can’t believe it took them 4 months to finally get you your console back! That’s inexcusable. Was it actually yours or was it a refurb or brand new one? Did they do anything to even try and make it up to you for it taking SO long? I’d just like to get ahold of even 1 customer service person there that will just tell me what they think is really happening. I’ve been given so many excuses.
Slo…. same thing happened to me, my xbox was supposed to be delivered on a certain day and never came. Called the 800# the next day and they told me that UPS definitely had it and that it would come the next day for sure. Unfortunitely it never came and so the headache began. UPS then confirmed my xbox was lost and xbox support was doing nothing to send me another console. Out of the 300 times I called all of those dumbas*** over at xbox they told me the same thing every time. After about 4 long months I finally recieved my xbox without any notice of it coming. My advice is to keep bitc*ing at them and dont give up.
Hope everything works out
ring custmoer support up or the microsoft number and complain and say you want a refund because it is discraceful how it keeps braking and they shouldnt sell them if they still know the 3 red lights problem is happening in the new consoles i wud anyway.
My xbox has been shipped yersterday but good friday today then sat and sunday then bank holiday moneday so i wont get it back until like wednesday :((((((
Umm i Really need help my 360 got the 3 red lights n this is going to be my 4th!!! time sending my xbox in for repair im really tired of my 360 getting messed up is their anyway i can get my money back from microsoft because im tired of sending in my xbox every single time should i argue with the agents to give me my money back what should i do help!?!?
I tried calling the support center again tonight and after being on hold for 45 minutes the dude come back and tells me that it looks like my 360 may have been lost and that someone will call me in about 2 days. I tell him that I was told almost the exact same thing 3 days ago and the f***er HANGS UP ON ME! My repair process began 45 days ago and the 800# has been telling me “it’s completed and shipped, please allow 5 business days for delivery..” since March 9th (8 business days). Wtf is going on? Probably no one here can help me, but I’m getting really damn frustrated with these assholes. Everytime I try emailing support to tell them of my “woes” with the 800# they just tell me call the 800#. Are they even reading my email? Do they even give a rat’s ass?
Remember me from like 8 months ago on this post my xbox broken again form 3 red light saent it of to microsoft i think im begging to be a pro.
Sent xbox off on friday with next day delivery microsoft not recieved it yet????
is this ok ?
what should i do ?
anyone please
Maybe someone has had this happen? My 360 elite got the RROD so I sent it to the repair center in Texas via their brown box. They had it for a few weeks and then one day (March 9) I call and the recording says “your repair has been completed and shipped, please allow 5 business days…” I expected to get it on Friday (March 14) but I didn’t so I call the 1-800# to get a tracking number so I can see where it is. They give me one but when I go to UPS’s website to check tracking all it says is “billing information received”. I had seen on some other boards where it will just say that all the way up to it being delivered to your door so I decided not to panic too much yet. I REALLY expected it Monday though (March 17) and it didn’t come again, so I called the 1-800# back to find out what is going on and they tell me that UPS gave them (Microsoft) an invalid tracking number and someone (from Microsoft) will call me in 3-5 business with a new tracking number. Does anyone have any idea what may be happening because the people at the 1-800# aren’t anywhere near as helpful as I’ve found these boards to be.
Yeah I got my new xbox back from the repair center. I was only worried. But no pyr0 I am not just a typical American, I looked at most of the posts and after just reading 100+ posts about you fighting with every last post, it gets old and is a waste of time and I can’t find what I was looking for because of it. Don’t judge me until you have all the facts.
Hey guys I got an email on Saturday saying that my repair was completed. When do you think I will be receiving it back??
Thanks
I have not received a tracking update since Friday Morning from Fedex and teh package is due tomorrow. I hate FedEx
Pvt. Moore
you dont have to put your name and address on the box.. they just ask if you can put your reference number on the box to make it easy for them to locate your package when it is received at the repair center.. you are somewhat leaving us uninformed about a few things such as the following…
1. when did you ship out your 360?
2. did you call the repair center before you sent it out to report your problem? if so they will have all of your information and they never mention anywhere that you have to put your name or address anywhere because all of your information is on the tracking code of the label that you were supposed to slap on the box which is to be delivered to the repair center. all that you need to put on the box(and you dont have to) is the reference number.
2. regardless of what all of the uninformed people tell you or will attempt to argue about for hours… you never receive a refurbished console in replace of your console that you send in to the repair center.. you either receive yours back if they were able to fix it or you get a brand new one and keep in mind that the brand new one doesnt necessarily have to be a console that was recently made.
3. call up 18004MYXBOX and ask them to tell you what is going on but before you do immediately after you get a representative ask for their supervisor as it is the only way you will get anywhere by calling the 1800 number.. explain to them that it is taking longer than usual..
so try to answer these questions to us and yourself before you post again and please try to be more detailed and most importantly try to read some of what were have been typing in this post over and over again for months now.. your answers are all here on this page.. you just didnt take the time to read it.. such a typical american… always wanting/demanding answers to the questions that are right in front of you… lol
I sent in my xbox a while ago and it was recieved by the repair center in McAllen, TX 2/14/08. Now I am worrying I won’t get a refurbished xbox back not only because it has been a good while but I also forgot to put my support reference number, my xbox 360 serial number and my name/address on my console inside the box I mailed it in. If that information isn’t on your console in the box while you then not receive a refurbished console back? Or will they still somehow know your address to send one, I don’t really know how that works fully.
considering they are using Fed Ex now…I sent it with Fed Ex.
Westside Raph:
Currently they are trying their best to get your 36 back to you within 3 weeks or less. Mine recently took 16 days which isn’t bad at all. You have to take it to the nearest UPS drop off center or pay $10 to have UPS come to your house and pick it up. I would not chose that method because it will more than likely tack on an extra day to the repair so just drive it to the nearest drop off location. You cant find them on http://www.ups.com .
Whats up guys…..Im going to copy and paste my last post which was from October of 2007
Westside Raph Oct 1st, 2007 at 12:49 pm
Mine is still running smooth….I got it back on Sept 11….Still doing awesome
Well how long has it been now? I got this 360 back on September 11th as I said above. and I havent read all the replies since then, but I am back here for no other reason than to confirm that this piece of trash is dead again. It happened Monday…so what…..5 months? 5 months!! Wow…should I be impressed? Anyway…Im glad I didnt buy Lost Odyssey like I was planning to. Then I would be even more pissed. but the coffin ERRRR Box is going to arrive today and I dont know how long it takes these days…2 weeks? 1 week? and I see they are using FedEx how……where do I drop this thing off?

Pyro:
Thanks for the info! I ruptured my Achilles so I didn’t get a chance to respond. With that said, I received a phone call on Saturday afternoon from a gentleman by the name of Anthony. He stated to me that “Coy” no longer works at that Office, and to direct all further inquiries to him. I asked him if Coy got fired and he stated that he has no knowledge of where he went.
I received my Play and Charge Kit, but still no Controller’s!!!!!
Bob:
My point of once of my previous posts is that you must simply act as if you keep getting the 3 Red Lights the whole time that the phone support techs are walking you through everything. I have done this with 2 previous Xbox 360 consoles and happen to know someone who works for Microsoft(not the Xbox support line) and he has told me that once you ship it out to them regardless if the 3 Red Lights apppear when the console is being serviced or not it must be repaired. And as obvious as it sounds it’s true because I had bought 2 non-working used 360 consoles for $10 each off of ebay and had them repaired(actually they couldn’t be repaired so I was given 2 brand new consoles). Call them tomorrow or later if you still have time before they close and do what I just told you. There ya go…getting your moneys worth. :)

Just one thing to add, if you get the three red rings AND your console is one year old (out of the initial warranty period), call them to get it it sent in. They will want to have you do some troubleshooting and you may get screwed like me (see my previous note). As they walk you through the troubleshooting, don’t actually do it, just say yea yea, nothing yet. Still red rings. That way you will qualify for your 3 year warranty. Be warned in advance.
Got one for you, was playing R.B. Vegas and the game started freezing. I would re-boot and start playing again and then it would freeze. Finally, after booting up again, I got the three red rings of death. I called M.S. and the guy talked me through some troubleshooting which involved removing the hard drive and entering some codes into the memory. No problem, the red rings went away and the game came up. Today I started having the freezing problem and sometimes the console would not even boot up. I called again and went through the same deal with the rep. She said I could send the console for repair but it will costs me $99 since it is past the 1 year warranty (by a month). I asked about the 3 year red ring warranty and she said that since the red rings are not showing up anymore, too bad. I told her that the reason I called the day before was because of the red rings. I even gave her the call reference number the first person gave me, she looked it up, agreed that I had initially had a red ring problem but since I don’t currently have red rings, just a console that freezes and won’t boot up then the 3 year warranty does not apply. Gotta love a company that really stands behind their product like that. Never again, when I need a new computer it will be a Mac, when I need a new game console – Play Station. They have lost me for life.
Rob:
The United States Xbox 360 repair center is located in McAllen, Texas. All that you have to do is call 1-800-4MY-XBOX and open up a case and they will send out a box to you via UPS and it will contain a label for you to slap on the box after you put your 360 in it.
There is no need to worry about the address because it will already be printed on the label.
Does anyone know where they will have my send my xbox if I live near chicago? Please tell me there is a repair center around here because I have only had my xbox for a month and its already broken I’m not to happy about that and don’t feel like waiting a long time to get my system back.
pyr0, you know, in thinking about all of your adolescent nonsense I am tired of wasting time with you and ruining what was a decent forum. If I did not already have an obligation to my corp and country I would be glad to just show you what the REAL world is about. Maybe when I return from my tour I will look you up, but right now I have more important things to attend to, until then enjoy the freedom we provide.
FYI- I am addressed as SGTMJR, not Don

pyr0, it is apparent you have been taught well to be the little bicth you are, I’m sure you daddy is proud.
That post had nothing to do with me but you continue with your BS again. You may think you are being a badass, but in fact you don’t know who you are talking to, I am not some kid.
Titus:
I have spoke to about 20 people so far who have been promised everything from free plug n play chargers to controllers and 3 month Xbox live cards due to the fact that their 360 was gone longer than a month and Microsoft told them that they would replace their subscription rounded to the closest month. From what I have learned is that apparently the low-level customer service technicians are the ones who are promising the people the ‘sorry we are terrible at doing our jobs’ free gifts for aggravated yet loyal customers who have been experiencing nothing but problems since day one. I’m willing to bet a blowjob from Don’s mom that if you call them and ask where your 2 free controllers are they will say ‘What are you talking about?’.
Here’s my advice: Call 1-800-4MY-XBOX and immediately ask for a supervisor…as soon as he gets on…ask him to put on his boss and so on until you get to the highest rank in that office of Australians and Pakis. From there…explain everything and then tell him that you are going to record the call. If I were you I would record the call from the beginning just like they state they might. Then raise hell until they finally decide what to do to satisfy you.
This has worked with a few people I know as far as getting the 3 month Xbox Live cards that they were promised.
Im 1005 serious about this so go give it your best shot and let me know what the outcome is.
pyr0
Damn ya’ll! Let’s get back to the issue at hand…They told me a month ago that I would be getting two free controller’s…and have yet to receive anything! You gotta love M$
Don:
I always knew you were a faggot and now you are a snitch and a professional gamer? lmao. Ever heard of a proxie? Or how to spoof an ip address? Completely untraceable…just as I am now. Like I said, I’m in Tokyo and the ip I’m using is from some city in Ohio or Pennsylvania. One DDoS coming up. lmao…
Whatever pyr0, 3 post crying like a baby again, first off you don’t know me, or who I am, or what I do but when the black car pulls into your drive and you have to explain to daddy what you did, and why you are being prosecuted by Homeland Security you MIGHT understand.
The ONLY thing you have gotten right so far is I am not a hardcore gamer, I do it for REAL. My 360 (or as you say 260) is just for fun.
Don:
Let’s jsut stop this. You don’t mention me, I don’t mention you. Problem Solved.
And I’ll say it one more time in case you didn’t hear me again. Keep my name out of your mouth and don’t even mention me in the third person. Leave and don’t come back.
Don:
I thought I told you to shut your little whiney girl mouth. I am always here to help people regardless of what you think. You need to stop living like a soft fragile little woman and wake up. It’s 2008 and the last time I checked all the soft people in the world were labeled pussies and outcasted from society. If Microsoft asked him to send out his power cord, I would know every reason that they would ask him to. The reason I was busting his balls is because people just come here and ask retarded questions without providing others with and info about the issue they are having hence the reason this webpage takes 20 seconds to load up because of all the half asses questions. Like I said, keep you mouth shut and find another forum to post on. Next time you whine about me or run your mouth I’m gonna cross script this site and get your ip address and DDoS your isp resulting in you having to disk out $$$ to fix the problem. And yes Don, say what you want….it can be done. Leave forever and this whole problem goes away.
p.s. watch your god damn back.
I just asked for Pyr0 to show some respect to the people who post here, guess that was too much to ask AND still is.
Tyler, his reply to your request to stop the nonsence is just another attack on me, so we all see who is the cause.
If you read through the above posts you will see that pyr0 doesn’t even know why M$ would ask for the power cord also so it is pretty clear he does not know what he is talking about when it come to a 360 repair and just came here to start a bunch of off topic BS. I actually was here to help others. But there is always one that has to sart a bunch of BS on forums.
To all those who came here for help with their 360 problems good luck with it, this WAS a pretty good place util pyr0 started in.
If you’ve already opened your system, you can fix it with an xbox repair guide.
LMMFAO…Anyway’s I got my shit, now let’s see if they come through and get me the shit that they promised me for free!?!?
borilla88
Tyler:
You are totally right. We should stop. I wasn’t the one who started it, it was Don, Because he thought that I needed a father figure in my life. HAHA. He was the one who started with the name calling and so on. Imagine that. My father is retired and living happily. Anyways, I know there is going to be a comeback from him so I give my new bitch Don full permission to get his last little gayer than he is comeback and then we can stop this and hopefully he will learn his lesson….Nobody cares what fags think so Don, stop posting.
As always…anyone who needs the real help and not just simple reminders from everyone who already posted…you know who to ask.
Later everyone.
pyr0, Don: Please, that’s enough. This isn’t a place for you two to attack each other. Just leave it alone, please.
Don:
Like I said..you are a bitch. I will beat your ass any day of the week. You amount to nothing so do us all a favor like I said and stay off this message board.
p.s. now you are my bitch. lmao
FOTFLMAO what a simple minded asshole. You are a legend in your own mind.
WHATEVER tough guy, you can’t even beat your own self off.
This is a forum for 360 repair NOT for assholes claiming to be bad ass.
What are you like 12 years old
Don:
Shut your mouth before I make you my bitch. What the hell are you anyways…the hardcore gamer with manners? I bet if you stepped in the ring with me I’ll drop you in 15 seconds flat…just enough time for me to get my hands around your neck you little chump. Don’t ever tell me what to do again or I’ll personally come to your house and break each and every one of your fingers and beat the fuck out of your mom too. Keep trying to be peoples father and see what happens.
As far as you stating that I am telling people to commit fraud….I am helping these people out and they will do what they want. After all, Microsoft deserves it. People are out to rip off Microsoft the same way Microsoft has been ripping off us since the day the 360 came out. You, on the other hand, are a pussy. I bet you are one of it comes to helping out frustrated gamers with my upbeat and sarcastic and sometimes unfriendly attitude while your post is unnecessary in a sense that either myself or many others have already discussed everything you had to say. Don, You are useless as a hooker with syphilis and you know that as well.
If you personally read all of the posts like I have you would realize that with every few posts a new discussion is brought up anyways.
You wanna know the sad thing….? I bet everyone who reads this gets a kick out of me making you look like the little fragile girl that you are and it’s just a matter of time before the people start posting back taking my side immediately. Face it chump, you time here was wasted and you know it. Don’t come back, or it just shows that you really wanna be my bitch >:-)
My advice…until you become chat moderator, keep your simple minded mouth shut.
p.s. I’m better than you, softy. Lolz. Go crawl in a hole and never come out ya little girl.
Pyro, what does having a cold have to do with your profanity???? There is no real reason to speak to the other people here like that.
GROW UP
STANDARD turn around for a 360 repair is three weeks to ONE MONTH if you do everything right. ( note STANDARD turnaround – sometimes it is faster sometimes it is slower but USUALLY it is ONE MONTH. ) I am NOT misguiding people, CALL M$ and ask THEM. your last post was in NO WAY helpful or meaningful so if all you want to do is run your rude mouth, just shut up until you actually have something pertinent to say.
AND BTW keep your advice of telling someone else to commit fraud to yourself.
Don:
First off.. only fuckin idiots who don’t follow the directions that Xbox gave them have to wait a month or more to get their 360 repaired. Your are misguiding all of the people that come to this page. The people that you talk to when you call 1-800-4MY-XBOX don’t work for Microsoft at all. They work for a marketing company which also collects debts and mortgage payments. They are trained to read from a script when you ask them question. That’s why if you ask them a question that they are unfamiliar with it takes them so long because they have to look through their script to look for your question.
Aaron Chan:
It’s obvious that one of two things have occurred; one being that you bought your 360 used and the previous owner has already registered it more than 1 year ago or you registered it more than 1 year ago. Therefore the only way your 360 is eligible to get repaired is if it’s experiencing the 3 Red Lights. Normal 360 repairs have been limited to 1 year while a 3 year extended warranty due to the wide spread 3 Red Lights issue has taken effect last year. So you are going to have to call 1-800-4MY-XBOX and tell them that your 360 is fucking up like everyone else’s. Here’s a little tip… even if your 360 is not experiencing the 3 Red Light, tell them that it is anyways. There is no way that they can tell if you have gotten them or not. And as I mentioned.. call them to schedule your repair, don’t be a dipshit and do it online. That’s why half the morons that posted comments on this page had to wait more than 1 month to get their 360 back. Either way.. call them and don’t be a pussy and take no for an answer.
Sorry for the language everyone.. I’ve just arrived at Tokyo from Pittsburgh and I have a cold. So much for my vacation.
I went to the xbox support page to register my console for repairs, but it says that it is out of warranty. what do i do now??
OK folks, I am going to try and summarize the experience you will have with M$.
The short version of ALL of the above is
1- it WILL take any where from 1 week to 3 months for M$ to get, repair ( replace ), and send back your 360
2- The people here do not work for M$
3- The people who DO work for M$ are complete idiots ( specially trained to be that way ) when it comes to trying to find out any info on your 360.
4) don’t question why you are sending in anything, just do it
AND for the next fool ( I know you are out there ) and you are going to ask again- rather than READ
IT IS 1-800-4-MYXBOX
Ever wonder why it is called a 360???? because it goes full circle. Created at M$ sent out to the consumer, and back to M$ to be fixed, then back to the consumer, then back to M$, well you get the idea
Dan, You hit it right on the nail! They requested it this time. The first two times that I sent my Xbox in, they didn’t request it, but this last time, they requested me to send it in along with my Xbox.
Update…I received my Xbox console today! We’ll see how long it takes for them to send the rest!?
Depending on the “issue” you are having with the 360 sometimes it is required to send the power cord with it.
Titus:
I’m just curious as to why you sent out your power cord in the first place..?
Ok…her’s the new update. I received a phone call from Coy, the gentleman that I previously reported that I spoke with in regards to my Xbox. He stated to me that my Xbox is currently in transit. It should be here on Wednesday (Tomorrow), but…here’s the kicker…they DID NOT send the cord to the power supply. So not only did they not send my Xbox with the power supply and cord, they sent the power supply out in a different box. They didn’t send out the cord until today! So, i’ll get my Xbox tomorrow…SUPPOSEDLY…still won’t be able to play it until, i’m assuming by next friday…a week from this friday. Why the Fawk would they not send a cord with the power supply? I don’t get it?! Dealing with these people is the worst experience of my life! Ok, back to my saga…I tell dude that I want something for free of course and he tells me what I can get for free. I end up requesting the “Play and Charge” charger. I tried to request the wireless network adaptor for the rear of the Xbox, but they don’t give them out for free. WTF can we do as customers to insure that this doesn’t happen in the future?
I know what Titus is going through. I sent my original Xbox out in early Oct. I received my new Xbox back on Nov. 28. It died on Nov. 29. I sent it back and it was received by Microsoft on December 14. It is know Dec. 28 and I am not up and running. I did receive a different Xbox (3rd different one) but no power supply. Called Microsoft and my complaints fell on deaf ears. I guess I will get my powersupply in about a week. Most likely I will sell the unit and continue to play my Playstation 3.
LMFAO- not at you but with you ( even though you are not laughing now ) but in time you will, TRUST ME. I’ve been there before, the experience you are going through is NOT uncommon. You will read about another person going through this and laugh, thinking I remember that, and how damn agravating it is to deal with those yahoos.
Incase you guys didn’t notice…it’s been 2 days shy of 2 months!
Alright ya’ll, here’s my story…I bought my Xbox back in December of 2006. From then until November of 2007, I have had to return my Xbox in 3 times! I am currently waiting for my 4th Xbox in a little over a year. So Xox received my box on November 27th 2007. I called on Novemeber 29th just to make sure they received it and was told “yes, sir it shows that it arrived on the 27th.” So I in turn asked “ok, so how long do you think it’ll take to repair my console”? Dude says “we’ve shortened up our repair time sir, and it usually only takes about 2-3 weeks”! I’m Flabbergasted at the thought of them gettin’ my console back to me so soon, so I tell him cool and leave it at that. OK so acouple weeks fly by and no Xbox…So I decide to call them and I get told my the Indian named “RED” that my Xbox has been “LOST”! I ask him WTF is goin’ on and how soon will they be getting me a new Xbox. He tells me that he is unaware of that and so I inform him that I would like to speak with his Supervisor…20-30 minutes later, I speak with some dude, again with an Indian accent named Jr. and he again confirms that my Xbox has been lost. I asked him WTF is going to happen now and he refers me to his Supervisor. He get’s my information (cell #) and states that his Sup. will call me the next day at around 2:30pm. The next day arrives…no phone call, So I give it another day and again no phone call. So i’m FUMING by now and I decide to call Xbox again. When I called, I spoke with some dude…again from India…and I give him all my information and he states to me “sir, I’m not showing that we received your Xbox yet!” I tell him, “Man WTF are you talking about? I have called you guys on numerous occasions in regards to this (I know it’s gettin’ boring, but keep reading) and they all confirm that you guy’s have received it on November 27th and now your telling me that you guy’s haven’t received it”! Then my phone loses reception!!!! My wife then calls ‘em cuz i’m fawkin’ HOTT now! She speaks with an AMERICAN now from Texas I think and she was being cool as hell. She has to type out a whole new ticket for me cuz apparently the old one was “messed” up. oh yeah, and she did confirm that Xbox received it on 11-27-07. She gets me to her Supervisor and he is cool as hell, plus he’s American as well. He tells me that he’s gonna ask/request to his Supervisor to try and get me a new Xbox for my trouble’s. I tell him “Man, if you can hook me up, i’ll be indebted to you!” He takes more info down and we hang up on good terms. The next day or two days later I get a call from this dude telling me that it’s the American Supervisor’s, Supervisor. So I’m like Coo! He was a complete DICKHEAD! He tried tellin’ me that they infact didn’t lose my Console, but it just hasn’t been found yet. I ask him if he’s spoken with ANYONE from the repair center and he states “no, not yet”! I then ask him “Then How do you know if they didn’t lose my console”? He says “sir, I AINT tryin’ to argue with you, I just told you that it AINT lost”! I then repeated what I said previously and he just said “this isn’t going anywhere, so i’m sending you to another supervisor”! I’m Flabberghasted! Now today’s 01-25-2008 and still no XBOX! I received a call from a gentleman by the name of Coy. He states that it’s on it’s way, but he saw the weight on the confirming email that he received and he thinks that they failed to place my Power Supply in with my Console! WTF people? Why are they so difficult to deal with? I wish they would have just re-imbursed us all with our money back!
In response to Austin’s comments:
You’re right, it does make a difference when your xbox was manufactured. Newer 360′s have a 65nm processor rather than a 90nm one, and it’s considerably cooler and less power hungry. Microsoft has also made changes to the main board; one standout change is one less transistor. On the heat sink, there no longer is a copper pipe running through.
Microsoft has had plenty of time to address these problems… I just don’t understand why they can’t do more rigorous testing before releasing a “new” model. If newer xboxs are still crashing, there’s definitely a problem.
Alright, thanks for the response. It’s just frustrating when my xbox breaks the day I get it.
Austin Hallock:
It’s obvious that yesterday was still part of the weekend. Bill Gates doesn’t work on the weekends and you know it. And if you read my posts then you would have realized that after they say it arrives that if can take up to 5-7 days to get fixed and sent back out. When it says that it was received that means it has arrived at the receiving dock of the repair center. It still has to get invoiced and then repaired and then it must be sent back down to the dock and then it must wait for a FedEx truck to come and pick it up. There ya go…5-7 days give or take. Just like I said.
And if you payed close enough attention you would have noticed that I mentioned 2 things, one that Xbox is now sending the 360s back via FedEx and I also mentioned that their service sucks. From tracking your 360 to the E.T.A.. FedEx doesn’t give 2 shits about people who chose the 5-7 day ground delivery method. As everyone has stated, it takes about 3 weeks give or take a day or two from the day you send out your 360 until you get it back.
Secondly I have mentioned that Xbox also doesn’t keep people up to date as they should. After all when you call the 800 number you are talking to people in the f***ing Middle East. What do you expect?
So if you sent your 360 out on January 13 you are not going to get it back until at least January 29. You are just gonna have to ride it out. I know it can be frustrating but that’s part of the agreement when you buy a 360 just like anything else from Microsoft.
Pyr0, I did read all the posts, and if you read my post, you would realize I mentioned that:
“I read earlier in these comments that it can be as little as 2 days, but as of right now it’s been 5 days – not that I’m too angry about that however (especially considering 2 days were the weekend).”
I’ll highlight that for you in case you’re having some vision problems:
“I read earlier in these comments that it can be as little as 2 days”
I realize yours took 3 days there rather than 2, so next time I’ll be sure to take extensive notes so I don’t mess that up again…
Mine has been there 5 days, which is more than 3 which is the only reason I came here to ask.
As for your second reply, the newer ones apparently are made better with the whole heatsink issue, possibly newer parts ect…I don’t expect it to be a brand new one, I was just wondering if the date is in the general vicinity which it appears yours was. I don’t want to get a refurb from Feb of 06 vs Dec of 07 because the 1st one will most-likely be more prone to issues.
Oh and by the way, this isn’t technically a ‘forum’, it’s a blog entry.
Have a nice day
Austin Hallock:
Also, think about what you said in your post…
…Also, one more question – If my xbox was a newer one (I think it was built late November 2007), will I receive a newer one in return (if they swap them out), or another newer one. With my luck I’ll get stuck with an older one that gives me the ring of death.
That is a stupid ass question. If your 360 just turned in to shit on you and you had to send it in.. then obviously your newer model 360 is just about as faulty as the old ones so what the hell does it matter for?
And to answer that… If they can’t fix your 360, they send you a new one. It doesn’t necessarily mean that it will be a recently made one. Mine was made in July of 2006 and when they were unable to repair it they replaced it with one made in September 2006.
Austin Hallock:
I’m assuming that you are hardheaded and don’t like to follow forum rules. Make sure you read everything before you post. I’m not going to answer your question because the answers are posted numerous times in this here page. Here’s what to do, go to the menu on your web browser (I use Mozilla Firefox because I’m not an inexperienced computer user) so it may be different with Internet Explorer…anyways, go to the file menu on your web browser and go to “Edit” and then “Find on this page” and search for my name “pyr0″ and read all of my posts. You will find all of the answers to your questions. And next time you enter a forum make sure you read everything first.
Wow, this post has a lot of comments ;)
I sent in my xbox Saturday Jan. 13th and it arrived around 3pm Wed the 16th.
I called xbox support this afternoon to get an update – and after 10-15min of ‘speaking’ to their difficult to understand support agents, I was able to get this out of them:
‘According to UPS, your xbox was received January 16th at approximately 3:24pm’
to which I responded asking how long it generally takes to be repaired before being shipped out again. She said:
‘The overall turn-around time is 3-4 weeks’
Which I assume means from the time I call them to the time I get my xbox back and repaired.
Does anyone know the general time taken from when the xbox gets there to when it is shipped out?
I read earlier in these comments that it can be as little as 2 days, but as of right now it’s been 5 days – not that I’m too angry about that however (especially considering 2 days were the weekend).
Also, one more question – If my xbox was a newer one (I think it was built late November 2007), will I receive a newer one in return (if they swap them out), or another newer one. With my luck I’ll get stuck with an older one that gives me the ring of death.
Thanks,
Austin
WTFDoesn’t any body READ this before they post????
my xbox360 is saying to play this gme insert it into an xbox 360 console does anywun know the microsoft tele no i really need it
Just to let everyone know, there are other options for repairing your 360 without sending it into microsoft. They are much cheaper, and they do work. Check this out:
Xbox 360 Home Repair
There are some great resources there to have your xbox 360 fixed today!
i hate xbox 360 i’ve ahd 3 or 4 of them each one broke and finnaly i sent one back to mic. and they sent it right back packaged and everything with the one month new live but they hadn’t fixed the problem at all im really starting to hate the xbox
Only if you have a custom faceplate. I would recommend that you put on the original faceplate because there have been stories where people sent their 360 without their faceplate and the silver tamper seal got knocked off and led xbox to believe that the person removed the sticker in an attempt to fix the 360 their self and denied repair to the 360. But if you dont have the only one just make sure that you put the 360 in the bag that comes inside that box.
Is it recommended to remove the faceplate from the 360 before shipping it to the repair center?
YAYYYYYYYY!!!! ESTIMATED SHIP DATE UPDATED: JAN 18th!!!! They actually shipped it today!! So theres my timeline…about 1-2 weeks in all! I got lucky!
James:
when they say that it was sent out, that means that it is sitting in the shipping department waiting for fedex to come pick it up. it usually leaves 3-4 days after they tell you that its done. you will notice on fedex’s horrible tracking site that the package has departed. it has been shipped out via fedex ground 5-7 days so expect in in 5-7 days. im going to bed so if you have any other answers feel free to ask away and ill reply as soon as i can.
and by the way….pyro…..we all understand your mindset…and your story about the truck and the brick–very interesting…..
hey i sent my xbox in and they recieved it on Jan. 11th–yesterday, Jan. 13th,(Sunday) they said its shipped out w/ a tracking #–when should i expect my package to come and how long do you guys think it’ll take for fedex to pick up @ MS?
Jodi Hoagland: this forum is for xbox 360 repairs, not a scratched disc. where did you send the disc to? if the disc stopped working you should have taken it back to the store you bought it from. your disc probably got lost in the mail or it simply hasnt been received yet. when you send discs back it usually takes 6-8 weeks to get processed and a new one sent back to you. a little advice.. if you really love your son you would chalk it up as a loss and go buy him another one. it doesnt have to be the limited edition one or even a new one, just go to gamestop and buy him a used one for $54.99. thats what i would do for my son. :P
I sent back my son’s Xbox 360 Halo 3 special edition disk five weeks ago and still have not received it. He asks me everyday if it is back. $70.00 for a disk and game he had only a few weeks and other 5 weeks or more of waiting…..
lol..its cool i hear ya i get mad sometimes when i stay up all night..anyways, i got my 360 this morning along with an apology note and a free 1 month gold card. they couldnt fix my 360 so they gave me a replacement xbox 360…and believe it or not, its working perfect..its not a new one and i can tell because it was made back in june of 06 and there is no hdmi port but hey i couldnt be happier. i made sweet love to my 360 all morning long and finally got some rest and now im back up and ready to play some more halo 3 and cod 4.
wow pyrO quite a story, we all live with you in fury about the xbox’s poor track record but reading your responses your pretty pissed about everything. Calling M$ & FEDEX every day or every hour for an update isn’t going to get things done quicker, in their eyes your xbox is not any more imporant than the 99 other xboxes they are dealing with that day. They get hundreds of these xboxs back everyday, its just a process as noted above by Don. I sent mine in monday from MN didn’t call or anything they got it thursday and it’s already noted as being on the way back via FEDEX. I guess for the last part of you saying your sick of this but cant wait to play you pretty much sum up everyones emotions about dealing with the xbox repairs….the saying “absence makes the heart grow fonder” comes to mind. Anyhow can’t wait to get my xbox back it’s hopefully the first and only time I have to send it in, rock band here I come!
well here it is…what i have been waiting to see…almost 2 whole fu****g days of no tracking updates and my package is about 150 miles or less from my house and it is scheduled to be delivered in the next 12 hours or so….hoooray!!! next time my 360 breaks im gonna bust it in to pieces with a sledgehammer and post it on youtube. then im gonna go and buy a ps3 and join the rest of the crowd.. heh at least it has a blu-ray player that would look sweet on my tv…i dunno though..im just sick of this…this is my 4th xbox 360…but i cant wait to play!!!!
ill let everyone know if it is working or not and if anyone wants to play halo 3 look for me online – pghpimp – gamertag

Mine is getting shipped today and is scheduled to be here on tuesday, i hope. Ill update. Oh Pyro if you go to jail don’t drop the soap.haha.
well guys, in my last post my 360 was just left fort worth, texas and that was the last time that the tracking info was updated. so the last time it was updated was on jan 9 at 7:39am and its now 5:30 pm the next day and still no update. every time i call fedex they say that “it is up to the driver if he wants to scan the package for tracking updates”. well what the f*** is the point of having a tracking service then?!?! they are tellin me that my package is due tomorrow jan 11 so i cant wait until i see that damn driver, i might end up smashing my package over his head until he is unconscious and then put him back in his truck and aim it towards the woods in the back of my house and throw a brick on the gas pedal and watch his ass crash down the hill. its not that its fedex that bothers me, its the fact that their tracking service sucks. im all the way in pittsburgh for christ sake. im supposed to hope the package is almost here when the last time they said anything my 360 was 2000 miles away. next time my 360 breaks im demanding that it is shipped back via ups or else im gonna raise some hell. well ill let you guys know if i get it tomorrow or not and if you dont hear from me then i probably did what i said i was gonnna do to the truck driver and ill be in jail for a while.
Got mine back within a week in Oct. Remember don’t write anything on the UPS box saying it’s an xbox (representative told me). Never know…ANYBODY can steal it…white, black, brown, yellow, red, purple…green
Ya I can’t wait for mine to get back but now when i look for its status on xbox.com the serial # is no longer there so idk what they’re doing with it now? It was “device recieved at service center” at 3:00 today and now it doesnt say anything some mexican probably stole mine. haha.
im just sitting here waiting for this damn 360 to get back. i was looking at the fedex tracking site and it angers me a little, read what has gone on so far since my package has left the repair center.(hopefully it will look right as i post it):

notice how the repair center in texas was waiting 2 days as the shipping label came from reynosa, tamaulipas, mexico. yes, thats right xbox fans, xbox is fully active with the mexican government (lmao). mexicans = slow and lazy so im assuming thats why it took 2 days for the label to get to them. keep in mind that the repair center in mcallen, texas is pretty much on the us/mexico border anyways. when i called xbox on Jan 5 they told me that my 360 has been repaired and shipped out already but it really just sat in the service center shipping area until the shipping label got there and fedex came to pick it up. (in my previous post this is what i meant when i said that when xbox tells you that your 360 has been repaired and shipped out, it is actually gonna take another 2-5 days until it actually leaves the repair center). all i know is that as soon as this is all over with and i have gotten my 360 back i am going to rub one off as i hold it because its been about a month since i have actually played with my 360 and im feelin horny. ill keep everyone updated.
Thanks Pyro thats good to know
hi guys yeh ive jus sent my xbox in for repiar im in the UK we had UPS service bring out a boxto take the 360 so its all good so far they said they are bringing out some sort of label thing or something im guessing thats the membership or something well ok will post back soon
yo dots. im surprised that the service center has gotten you 260 already being that you live all the way in massachusetts. i live in pittsburgh and it took 5 day but i guess that is because new years day was in between. regardless, once the repair center receives you 360 it will take between 12-24 hours for it to show up on the internet that the service center has received it. i happen to know that it has only been taking them between 4-5 days to repair them lately and thats cool. the thing that sucks ass is that they are only shipping 360s back via fedex from now on so it they use 5-7 day ground instead of the 3 day select from ups. the other bad thing about fedex is that they dont pick up packages as often as ups does after you get word that it is repaired expect another 2-3 days before it is picked up. also be aware that when your 360 repair appears to be complete and they give you a fedex tracking number this time, it will say that the label has been sent and you will not notice any movement at all until they ship it which takes another day. and the last thing to be aware of is fedex’s website tracker, it too sucks ass for they only update the info once a day where ups will update every couple hours/every time the truck delivers to the next arrival point. this is a excellent guess of how long its gonna take until you get your 360 back since it was just received: up to 2 days before they start working on it, they usually fix them the same day they start working on them so 1 day for it to be fixed and another 3-5 before it gets picked up by fedex and since you live all the way in massachusetts and your 360 is coming back via fedex 5-7 ground font forget that sundays dont count. so overall its gonna take about 14 more days or so +/- a day.
thanks Gilman, when i call 18004myxbox i get a recording what do i gotta say to talk to a real person?
Hey Dots call 1800 4 My Xbox and ask them u need your refference number and if u dont have it they will give it to you and then if they fixed it they give you another tracking number with fedex or ups
I sent mine in four days ago with the red ring of death and i wrote down the tracking # on the box so I knew where it was. I’m in massachusetts and it got there today, the tracking # at ups.com sayed its there but when i check it at xbox.com it says the service center is still waiting for repair. And if anyone knows does it really take only 2 business days for them to fix it?
YOU WON’T BELIEVE THIS….
Most of you know:
1. If your 360 crashes, you get it repaired by Microsoft, you will not get YOUR console back, but one that somebody else owned, and Microsoft repaired it and sent it to you.
2. The new, refurb will have a different serial number than your original purchased one.
3. This is how it works, you can not change that.
But did you know, if you purchase an extended warranty from Microsoft, You most likely will begin your NEW nightmare….Microsoft will not transfer your warranty to the refurb they sent you unless you fax a bunch of info to them.. then wait… I have been waiting since about october… and My last refurb, 1 of 4, got here in July…..
Most 360s last about 6 months… so, I am in trouble.. I have had this one since July 2007, and supprisingly it is still working, but I am not covered by my extended warranty that I purchased… so, if my 360 dvd drive fails.. I am intercoursed! You to will have this problem… check it out.. if you have had yours repaired, call and see if your new serial number is IN WARRANTY for your extended warranty!
FOTFLMAO Pyro, not at you but WITH you, damn that was a long post. Been there done that, you know what’s funny about this the last time I sent my 360 in I did NOT call about it and I had it back in about two weeks, I guess if you don’t call for status they push it through LOL.
Pyro Did yours have the red rigs of death i was just wondering but yeah i did the same thing i called them today too and they said it should come on Jan 9 and they also gave me a fed ex tracking number but mine was 3 day select idk mircosoft should just make ur 360 warranty for like 3 years and also Xbox Lve Should Be Free
I just woke up and decided to call Xbox and see where the hell my 360 is and thy gave me kinda good news. I’ll give you guys my story and let you know what I think of all of this. I bought my 360 on April 12, 2007, therefore I have a 1 year warranty. Around the beginning of October 2007 my Xbox started acting up (only 6 months after I bought the damn thing) and I started having flashbacks of my first 360 (that one I bought as a used video game store) and all the hell it gave me. Anyways, My current 360 is having a problem which I have described to over 500 games online and 30 different Xbox customer support and no one really had a clear idea of the problem that I was experiencing. So put it in my own words, everyone knows what I am talking about when I say that when your 360 is powered on, the system produces its own noise which can be pretty loud at times. My guess is the noise is coming from 2 things, the internal fans working which produce some sound and the motor that spins the disc drive makes the most noise. I will actually be playing my 360 and my it will go silent and that’s not a good thing because thats when other problems start to occur like game freezing and disc read errors. The odd thing is that I will be in the middle of an online match of Halo 3 and my 360 will go silent on me and it will still play surprisingly for sometimes up to an hour before I start to get problems. Now this is where I am worried….When I sent out my 360 to be repaired they give you the list to check off the symptoms you are experiencing, however there is nothing mentioned that refers to the disc drive going silent (which I know means that it is failing) so I prepared my own little note like this that I stuck in the box when I sent it out hoping that they read it and don’t just go straight to repairing the disc read error and game freezing problems and overlook the problem that is leading to all of the other problems. I am aggravated that you can only talk to the retarded middle easterners when you call up Xbox support and are unable to talk to the people that actually repair the 360 because every time I call Xbox to check the status of my repair the do their little review of whats going on and they tell me that I am calling to check the status of my 360 that was experiencing the 3 Red Lights. So here is how long it has taken so far…. On December 13, 2007 I called them up and reported that it needs fixed so the next day they sent out the box via UPS 3 Day Select to me in Pittsburgh and i received the box on December 18, 2007 so I took 5 days for me to receive the box. Then my fault I was busy for the next 10 days and didn’t get the chance to send it back so I finally took the box to the UPS store down the street on December 27, 2007 and it was sent to the repair center in McAllen, Texas via the 3 Day Select lable that they gave me to put on the return box and they received it on January 2, 2008 which tells me one thing so far, UPS 3 Day Select actually means 5 days. So this morning I woke up and called Xbox like I have been for the past 4 days trying to find out if it has been repaired yet (because they kept telling me that they have no record of the repair center even receiving my 360 yet) and they tell me that it has already been repaired and was sent out today via FEDEX yesterday, January 5, 2008 and they provide me with a FEDEX tracking number instead. So I go to track it and of course it hasn’t even left the repair center yet like they said it has. So I call FEDEX because the tracking number isn’t working and they tell me that it’s because my package hasn’t been sent out yet. Imagine that. So they said it will probably be picked up tomorrow and this time Xbox was cheap and went with the FEDEX 5-7 day delivery method and its funny because I was telling the FEDEX woman my story and she even said “Yup, Xbox went the cheap route this time”. So overall with me living in the Northeast I would say that my repair has gone really quick minus the 10 days in between where I didn’t have time to sent it out. Overall It was sent out on December 27, 2007 and is expected to arrive on January 11-12, 2008 so overall 14-16 days isn’t bad at all. Hope my long and boring story helps anyone get an idea of how long it takes and some of the problems with Xbox customer support and so on.
I Hope it to all i want to do is plat xbox 360 LOL I also checked fed ex and they also said it will come on the 9th
Wish you the best of luck, but don’t definitely plan on it showing up that quick LOL Xbox “support” ( or lack there of ) don’t always tell the truth.
I heard the same thing ( you will have it on …) but it showed up a WEEK later. Hope you get yours when they said, I KNOW how frustrating this can get.
I just called them and i gave them my pphone number and they gave me the refference number and they said my xbox 360 is going to come on January 9 and i send it in January 2 wow that was fast
Thanx Man what does it look like i mean i think they gave me one but im not sure
Gilman, when you call up Xbox and start the whole process of getting you 360 repaired they give you a number to refer to anytime you call them up and have questions about whats going on and such. It;s like a case number. Think of it like a phone number, if people want to get a hold of you they need to have your phone number. Same thing applies for when you want to find out information about something you called Xbox for, you need the reference number that they gave you for the original call.
When you get the box and it asks you for your reffrence number what is that
How the hell can people find this site but they can’t find the repair # for Microsoft?!
Doesn’t anybody READ this before asking questions?????
I put it in bold print, look up
what number do i even call to get info on returning my xbox 360 in for repair???????????????….PLEASE HELP!!!!!
