Bush Endorses Amnesty. Sorta.

There’s been an enormous amount of immigration talk lately. Congress is currently looking at various immigration reform proposals. Newt Gingrich thinks the U.S. should just start enforcing our current immigration laws, which really would make the most sense.

Apparently, President Bush “generally favors plans to give millions of illegal immigrants a chance at U.S. citizenship without leaving the country, but does not want to be more publicly supportive because of opposition among conservative House Republicans, according to senators who attended a recent White House meeting.” Granting amnesty to illegals would probably force me to move out of the country for good. Although, this could possibly result in a huge voter turnout by hispanics in favor of republicans.

I’ll be writing more about immigration in the next couple days, and how the mexican-american population usually manages to sabotage their own agenda.

Blogspot Boylove Shutdown

The “boylove” site discussed in my previous post has been shut down. I don’t think anyone would argue with that, except maybe “Freedom“.

Stacy informed me of the sites demise in the comments in that last post, I do appreciate the info provided by readers in comments very much. New sources are good, I don’t typically get a lot of my information from the Christian bloggers and religious community in general, so a change is nice I guess.

Now, this is just one of what’s likely to be many tens of thousands of “boylove” blogs. Assorted Babble rightly notes that parents need to be aware of their childrens online activity at all times. I’d expect to see some sort of group formed to start targetting some of the larger and more popular “boylove” blogs. Groups are how the blogosphere gets shit done.

I’m all for violating peoples right to free speech if they’re going to be discussing fantasies, that if acted out, would be 100% illegal. Some would say that isn’t free speech, but free speech isn’t unlimited. For instance, you can’t speak of bombs while on an airplane. This is the same type of thing. People shouldn’t be allowed to blog about their fantasies with small boys, no matter how much they believe it’s an OK act to engage in.

I think a few years of a “Red Scare” type scenario would do some good. I wish some people were afraid about how their views and opinions would be percieved by others. I’m exempt of course, because, uhh, I just am.

I’m by no means advocating for large scale government involvment in internet freedoms. As far as I’m concerned, they should stay out totally. It should be up to individual companies to include such content restrictions in the terms of service.

Oh, and this post has been linked at Outside The Beltway and Mudville Gazette.

Blogspot Boy Love

Stop the ACLU has news of a “boy love” blog that’s being hosted by google. This sick fuck of a blogger thinks little boys are his sexual play things. Well, he may not think that precisely, but he might as well. This is from Wordlnet Daily:

A marriage and family therapist is trying to convince Google to drop a website from its popular, free blog host that promotes “boy love,” sexual relationships between men and adolescents.

Stacy L. Harp of Orange, Calif., told WorldNetDaily one of the readers of her weblog pointed out the site, called “Paiderastia: The Boy Love Revival.”

At the top of its homepage, the site explains it’s all about “erotic/mentor/spiritual love between adolescents and adults.”

Harp said, however, that not long after she exposed it yesterday morning, the “Paiderastia” site removed its most recent posts, including one dated April 9.

Also removed, according to Harp, was a podcast – a file with a radio-style report – that mocked the FBI. It was created through the podcast provider Liberated Syndication.

Here’s a bit from the blog itself, at least this asshat realizes he doesn’t have “right” to make love to boys.

I just now got around to reading the post that included the Boylove Code of Ethics, and I really really like this Code of Ethics. These things are very important, and more of us need to remember them. We have to remember that sex is not an entitlement. In other words, just because we have a sexual attraction to boys (that we did not choose to have) does not mean that we have the right to pursue a sexual relationship with a boy. That isn’t to say that the sexual relationship in itself is wrong.

Sicko. I’m sorry, but it’s just wrong. The fact that these guys have a code of ethics is just plain weird. How the fuck are these dudes gonna have a code of fuckin ethics? They’re banging little boys for fuck sake! Google had better pull that site, or I’m boycotting.

Rusty at The Jawa Report seems pretty disgusted by this too, rightly so. They’ve got a few other pedophile sites listed also.

The Dread Pundit is wondering why sites with anti-islamist artwork have a warning before you can enter and these boy love sites don’t. He brings up a very good point. I realize Google can’t keep tabs on all these blogs, but come on. If any sites should present warnings before entering, it should be these boy love sites.

New Power Supply Unit for Nightengale

One of the main reasons for moving this site to DreamHost was the increasing instability I was experiencing with my server, nightengale. The machine would lock up pretty randomly, with no warning. I’d have to yank the power cord from the back to get it to come back to life.

I noticed the power supply was quite a bit warmer than it should have been. The fan wasn’t spinning at all. The fan was only supposed to spin when it was needed, I never saw it spin. I tore that old PSU apart and the fan was extremely hard to move, and I was using my hand.

After the machine sat dormant for a few days, I decided to hit up Staples and see what they had for power supplies. Luckily they had the one I was wanting, the Antec SP-350.

This new power supply is much quieter than the old one. It’s also a whole hell of a lot cooler to the touch. I’ve also compiled a few kernels with this new PSU and I can’t get the box to freeze. The freezing would usually occur when I was compiling a new kernel or something very CPU intensive for a period of time.
