Soon after the Iranian Revolution in 1979, Ahmadinejad, who was studying in Tehran’s University of Science and Technology, became a member of the central council of the Office for Strengthening of Unity Between Universities and Theological Seminaries, the main pro-Khomeini student body.
The OSU played a central role in the seizure of the United States embassy in Tehran in November 1979. Members of the OSU central council, who included Ahmadinejad as well as Ibrahim Asgharzadeh, Mohsen Mirdamadi, Mohsen Kadivar, Hashem Aghajari, and Abbas Abdi, were regularly received by Khomeini himself.
Former OSU officials involved in the takeover of the U.S. embassy said Ahmadinejad was in charge of security during the occupation, a key role that put him in direct contact with the nascent security organizations of the clerical regime and the Islamic Revolutionary Guards, which he later joined.
Dr. Rusty Shackleford has photos to prove it. It’s so obvious Iran is becoming a free state. I wonder if he was truly elected. Rusty does make a good point in his post saying “remember, it’s who counts the votes that matters in the end.”
I guess this really doesn’t suprise me as it is Iran after all. They’re not gonna simply clean up their act over one election. It’s all a show so the U.S. doesn’t attack.
Right Wing Nut House says The New York Times is still having trouble identifying the enemy. RWNH has some very interesting little nuggets of information.
A new version of WordPress was released overnight. It’s a security fix. I was expecting a new release soon as I’d seen a few exploits for WordPress 1.5.1.2 floating around. I believe one of em allows “admin” type users to be added. Below is what the WordPress development blog says about the new release.
We would like to announce that WordPress 1.5.1.3 is now released as we continue the availablity of a highly stable and extremely popular branch based on the 1.5 Strayhorn codebase. Development has moved on to some exciting new features for the next major release, but an important security issue was brought to our attention which required an update for our users. The problem is not yet public but you should update your blog as soon as possible to 1.5.1.3. If you are unable to do upgrade in the short-term you may protect yourself by deleting the xmlrpc.php file from your WordPress directory.
This dude is seriously my hero. I wrote about the eminent domain ruling yesterday. Anyway, Logan Darrow Clements is seeking to build a hotel on Supreme Court Justice David H. Souter’s property.
Logan, thank you. I hope you succeed in getting your hotel up. I hope some other people make similar attempts with the other supreme court justices. Let them see how it feels. Perhaps they forgot this would open them up to the same type of thing. I’m still really pissed off about the eminent domain ruling in general.
These bastards don’t understand anything without pressure being applied. Maybe Logan will cause them to re-think their ruling. They shouldn’t have even come to the conclusion they did. What Logan is doing shouldn’t be necessary. Private property is private. Giving government the ability to take property goes against everything I thought the U.S. stood for. But, like I’ve said before, this government isn’t ours. It probably never will be. I have a feeling most top government positions are already decided, for the next 50 years at least. Most positions going to family members of current politicians. It feels like they are trying to not let any new blood in to Washington to make decisions. I dunno why letting new people have power is a bad thing. Change is good.
Maybe I need to get a tinfoil hat…errr, body suit. Anyway, Eric Ragle has the entire press release on his site. The original press release can be found here. I first saw this on GOP Bloggers this afternoon while printing orders @ work. Didn’t get around to writing about it then though.
I just saw this over on Search Engine Roundtable. It appears Google is messing around with a new user interface. It basically looks the same with a few more items thrown in. First thing I noticed was the tabs at the top. Search Engine Roundtable has links to a few forums discussing the new UI. The SEO UK bloghas a screenshot of the UI. SunnyMonkey (at SEO UK), has made a few notes on his screenshot to help you see the changes.
It’s nothing great but there’s a lot more color. I dunno if I like the color combo they chose. Too many different colored pastels. I dunno if I like the tabs. I think I like it how they have it more right now, just the plain text links. Oh well, they’re google and can do whatever the hell they want.
So, our government hates us. A few days ago, the Supreme Court ruled on eminent domain powers. They came to the conclusion that state entities can take private property as long as it’ll generate some sort of tax revenue. I was so freakin pissed off when I heard this. I honestly can’t believe this is happening, although it doesn’t suprise me. I hope to god something is done about this, cuz it’s gonna lead to the downfall of our current govt. Not that it’s a bad thing.
As you can probably imagine, there’s a lotta pissed off people. VodkaPundit says “This ruling is a license for corruption and abuse.” I think he hit it pretty head on there, because it’s true. Businesses will just start giving money to the government to get private property. I’m sad.
And over at SayUncle, they have tons of commentary and all sorts of updates on the story. This is the stuff revolutions are made of. I liked the post title about this over @ Wizbang, it reads “All Your Property Are Belong To US”. Funny.
