I’m a big advocate of stem cell research. I hope the religous right in the doesn’t prevent this research from being legal here in the U.S.. If they do, we’ll be medically, way behind other countries. That’d be sad.
There’s this lady in South Korea, that’s was paralyzed in an accident 20 years ago. Doctors supposedly repaired her spine using “stem cells derived from umbilical cord blood”. If you wanna read all about it, here it is:

Ashley and I got back home to Iowa lastnight around 5:00. It was an unusually long drive home. Traffic was horrible. Nobody was driving in the right lane, every mother fucker was in the fast lane….and they were going about 68mph. It got frustrating.
Lots of cops out yesterday too. We saw probably about 20 of them or so. Luckily they all had people pulled over by the time we got to them.
Ashley and I had a good time in Wisconsin. We went to see Alexander on Friday night. It was weird, that’s about all i can say about it. The battle scenes were pretty cool though.
I woke up this morning here to see snow on the ground. It’s freakin cold here! I had major troubles getting out of bed this morning. We went out to a bar lastnight till about 10:00, so that could have something to do with it. Not to mention we had drinks every night while in Wisconsin.
It was a good time. Thanksgiving dinner was great. Wanderlust Coffee Gallery kicks ass. I think Ashley and I went there about every morning to get some drinks. They got kick ass croissants there too!
Well, I gotta get back to work.

There’s lots of ugly news going around about popular pain reliever Vioxx. Supposedly 55,000 people have died from complications developed from taking the drug.
I’ll probably never take any sort of drug like this. Drug companies are one of the most evil entities in our country. They mass produce drugs that dull senses, make pain go away, and who knows what else. I’m almost afraid the government will (if they haven’t already) make use of these drugs to better control us and our actions.
Maybe I’m just paranoid.

Patrick J. Volkerding, the man behind Slackware has been really sick lately. In his most recent update to slackware-current, he posted a request for assistance from the community.
This was mentioned on OSNews.com. They mention that he’s suffering from a genetic disorder called Marfan’s syndrome. I don’t believe it’s a life-threatening disease, which is good. I’ve read about it a bit about it on the internet, it sounds to be more of a nuisance than anything.
Patrick is looking for help in recieving the medicine he needs to get better. He’s been traveling all over the U.S. to hospitals. Last I heard, he was at the Mayo clinic.
People are acting like he’s dead. Asking what’s going to happen to Slackware? Slackware is gonna die! blah, blah blah. Pat’s not dead. If the worst case scenerio was to occur, there’d still be people to take over the maintaining of Slackware.

OK, that marine that shot the guy that was “faking he’s fucking dead” did nothing wrong. It’s a war. If I was in a war, and some mother fucker popped up on me, after pretending to be dead, I’d straight kill him.
I was against the whole “kill em all” attitude when this war started. But fuck it. Kill em all. Who the fuck cares? The world population is outrageous anyway. Around 6.5 billion people. Offing a billion shouldn’t be a problem. The dirty killing techniques I’ve heard about these insurgents using is real grimy. It’s a good thing I’m not over there yet.
Also, how can the government willingly call up soldiers that have already served their terms in the military? If I was one of these people, I’d give the finger to the government and move to Canada. I hope the Canadian authorities arrest Mr. Bush for his war crimes next time he goes there.
