The cure

0

Lately, most of the John Kerry commercials I’ve seen have bragged how Mr. Kerry will protect Americans from “the terrorists”. They all make it sound like Kerry can do what Bush hasn’t been able to do yet.

If either of these men really cared about the country, they would all step down. That’s the only way there’ll be an end to the so called war on terror. We’re the target of terrorism because of our government, who’s in charge, and how it’s run. I don’t think that simply not-supporting Israel will work anymore. A couple years ago, I was convinced all the problems came from our involvement with Israel.

Now, I truly believe the only way to remedy “the terrorist” problem is for every member of the U.S. senate and executive branch to step down. An entirely new form of leadership will have to arise before anything good will come. Now, Americans will still be hated cuz we gots mo money than all you fools…a single, solitary tear drips down my cheek.

Not voting

0

I decided I’m not going to be voting next month. Why? Because I don’t want to. And because I’m sick of being pressured to vote. If any more of those fucks come up to me and ask if I’m registered and if I’ve voted yet, I will kill them…zero hesitation.

Who the fuck do these people think they are pressuring people to vote? If someone dun wanna vote, they don’t have to. I’ve had at least 5 encounters with these people. I can’t remember what organization they’re with, but I need to find out.

They don’t just ask if you’re registered to vote. They PRESSURE you to fill out absentee ballots while they stand there! One even offered to take it with her if I filled it out right then and there. If shit like this happens in 2008, I’m leaving the country.

Get a life you stupid ass holes. Quit forcing your opinions on other people! Our votes don’t matter anyway…ever heard of the Electoral College? Last I knew, the Electors weren’t required to vote the way their constituents vote. It’s suggested that they vote in favor of their constituents, but aren’t required to. So, in my opinion, it’s really up to the Electors in the Electoral College.

Democracy doesn’t really exist here anymore.

Flu Vaccination Shortage

1

Bush and Kerry are taking hits at each other over the looming flu vaccine shortage. Why anyone would listen to this garbage is beyond me.

It seems that there’s always a flu vaccine shortage around this time of year…no matter who’s the president. I wonder if they’ve ever heard of supply and demand? It’s a very basic concept taught in most high school economics classes. :)

They should just get angry at consumers for wanting the flu vaccine. I’m glad election day is almost here. I seriously can’t take too much more of the campaigning.

Cheney is supposed to be here in Nevada, Iowa (at the county fair grounds) this Friday. Too bad I’m still gonna be around, cuz I’m sure this town will be busy as hell. I just hope there’s not a bunch of news media all over the place. I won’t hesitate to run em over.

Much needed archive cleanup

0

I cleaned up the news archive page a little bit. It’s now seperated by month. Before all of the content was just shown, which was real hard to read.

I’ll probably break it down by year next…the years being links to news for just that year.

I miss Dropline Gnome

0

I was an avid Dropline Gnome user. The most recent version of Dropline Gnome doesn’t work at all for me.

Nautilus (the desktop manager) doesn’t run. I’m not even sure if the problem is with Dropline Gnome, or my kernel.

Dropline Gnome 2.8 requires a 2.6.x kernel. When trying to start Gnome in a 2.6.x kernel, I get bunches of errors about /dev/dsp not existing (the sound device).

Now, either udev isn’t working (which is built into the kernel), or hal/dbus isn’t working. From what I’ve read, hal/dbus and udev do about the same thing. Pretty much a dynamic /dev filesystem.

Anyway, I’m frustrated, and somewhat angered. I’m not at all happy with the 2.6.x series of linux kernels. 2.4.x works wonderfully for me, 2.6.x has just been a pain. I want my Dropline Gnome desktop back, and I want it soon.

I’m going to buy a PC to replace my dual processor machine that died. The gateway I got from work isn’t that useful to me. The video card in it blows, and there’s no AGP slot for my Radeon card. The pc I’m looking at buying is pretty much exactly like my other dual processor machine. It’s got a VP6 motherboard, 2x 733mhz P3 procs, and 1.5gb of RAM. I didn’t have that much RAM. The guy is letting it go for $220. The RAM alone is almost worth that much. Hopefully I’ll be able to get Dropline and a 2.6.x kernel working better on that machine. I might even drag out that dead VP6 machine and see if I can’t get it working.
