PHP 5.0.0

The stable release of PHP 5.0.0 has been out for a little while now, since July 13th. I compiled and started using it on the 14th I think. I was glad to see that there’s a hardened-php patch for PHP 5.0.0 already.

I tried using the grsecurity kernel patch for a while but it would cause my network card that’s connected to the internet to go down, for some reason. I think the grsecurity patch was blocking access to something in /proc. I dunno, I’ll probably mess around with it a little later on.

Cell phones in Central Iowa (and beyond?)

I’m now convinced that there’s something seriously screwed with the cell phone networks here in central Iowa. Most of the people I talk to have had this happening to them for the last couple of weeks. Anyway, my cell phone never rings when somebody calls it. It’ll just alert me that I have a new voice mail, but the phone never rings!

My phone has been wringing twice a day or so, but I always end up with more voice mails than that. It’s so annoying. I’m really curious as to whose and how many calls I’ve completely missed.

How is Kerry even a nominee?

I just don’t understand it. He’s bashing Bush for Bush’s stance on same-sex marriage, yet Kerry refuses to take a stance of his own. What a god damn hypocrite. If Kerry doesn’t have a stance on the issue, what right does he have to bash Bush’s stance? He needs to shut the fuck up and drop out of the race. I’m gonna be seriously pissed off if this jack ass gets elected. He looks more like a fucking robot than Gore did. God this man makes me mad!

Google on Nasdaq

Looks like Google is getting closer to their IPO. I’d be interested in purchasing some of their stock. I mean, it has to be a fairly safe bet, I’d be 95% of the American population knows about google. It’s not even just a noun anymore, it’s verb! Anyway, it looks like google will be trading its shares via Nasdaq, I had a feeling it would end up being traded on Nasdaq as opposed to the NYSE, which many people had favored. Ok…

I finally got a linux box up and running as a router/web server here at home. I’m looking for a new 2x processor motherboard, 2x new processors, new memory, and a new power supply unit. If anyone wants to help me out with this please let me know as I would be glad to take any donations anyone might have.

I won’t be offering trance mixes for a little while, at least until I get my main linux workstation back up and running. The machine I’m using for a web server and router is kinda short on hard drive space, so I can’t really keep any mixes on it. All of my music is backed up on a 30gb IDE drive though, I’m confident that all of that data is perfectly safe.

Don’t expect this website to be up all the time, I’m gonna be tweaking the web server quite a bit so theres a good chance it will be down for hours or days at a time.
