I mentioned DJ Pi in an earlier post. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of news out there about Pi right now. I spoke with Pi on MSN earlier this afternoon and found out that Volume 6 of Trance Empire is due out tomorrow. It’s being released by the release group, NRG.
I think it’s awesome that NRG is releasing Pi’s stuff. It’ll mean a lot more exposure for him, and that’s always good.
When doing a search for “DJ Pi” on google, this site actually comes up on the second page of results, which suprised me since he’s only been mentioned once or twice here before.
Pi will soon have a website, which is almost a necessity for a DJ of his nature. I’ll post the URL here when I hear it’s ready for public consumption.

The blower motor on our furnace went out yesterday. Initially we thought it was just the pilot light that got blown out, but after re-lighting that, the furnace still didn’t work. The blower fan motor was really warm and the fan wasn’t turning at all, even when the motor was supposedly on.
I called a guy from Neighbors Heating-Cooling and he came out here around 8:30 pm and got a new motor installed. The bill came to about $400, I’m glad I don’t have to worry about that one.
Within 5 minutes of the furnace coming back on, I could feel the blood returning to my finger tips as my hands started to swell, it was a great feeling.

I was reading on Salon.com about how Prez. Bush slept through the half-time show. Towards the bottom of the article, there’s a quote from White House spokesman Scott McClellan towards the bottom of the page:
“Our view is, it’s important for families to be able to expect a high standard when it comes to programming.”
I understand that the White House has to take the most politically correct stance on every issue. I think it’s sad that sooo many people got pissed off at Janet Jackson’s tasseled nipple. Skin, is skin, is skin. The video of the event isn’t even very clear, when I first saw it, i had trouble telling if it was a real breast, or some sort of fake. I didn’t get to see it live, cuz the half-time shows are always worthless (guess I was wrong this time). If you’re interested, you can snag the video from the URL below:

THere’s lots of good DJ’s out there today, but in my opinion, DJ Pi and DJ Doboy are a couple of the best. DJ Pi is less known than Doboy, but Pi’s mixes are of comparable quality to those of Doboy. Doboy also gets a lot more airtime on Digitally Imported. This probably has something to do with his popularity.
I’ve found myself being more and more drawn to DJ Pi’s stuff. His mixes aren’t readily avaible anywhere on the web, so he’s been uploading his newest mixes to me directly. I spoke with Pi today and he told me to expect Trance Empire Vol 6 (the next vol of Trance Empire) sometime around Feb 15. Trance Empire Vol 5 is my fav one right now. I’m really looking forward to Vol 6!
