Frozen Pipes

0

With the past few days not getting any warmer than 0F, the water pipes in our trailer have frozen up. I woke up to this pleseant suprise this morning. I put another light on the pipe box outside, so hopefully that will be enough to un-freeze them. Living without water is sucky and I don’t wanna do it anymore. I do wanna brush my teeth and shower!

New Mediacom Speed Caps

0

It seems that Mediacom decided to speed things up a little. Early this morning I was able to download around 350kb/sec. Uploads now go at a steady 30kb/sec instead of the usual 14kb/sec. It’s so awesome I didn’t have to wait another 3 days for the upgrade!

I haven’t noticed any troubles with the upgrade yet. Hopefully everything during the upgrade goes smoothly, I don’t want them to take this away for ANY reason!

A pleasant surprise from Mediacom

0

I decided to check my Mediacom e-mail account this morning and it had this lone e-mail sitting in the Inbox. I guess Mediacom is doubling the speeds for my area…and many others as it turns out. I currently have a 1.5 megabits downstream and 128 kilobits upstream. After the upgrade, I’ll have a 3 megabits per sond downstream and a 256 kilobits per second upstream.

It’s supposed to happen Feb. 1….here in a few days! Anyway, here’s the e-mail:

Think twice as FAST. With Mediacom Online.

We’re doubling the capabilities of the fastest Internet
access available. Now, Mediacom Online is twice as fast,
with download speeds up to 3 megabits per second and
upstream speeds up to 256 kilobits per second. This upgrade
is automatic and will be effective February 1, 2004. All
you need to do is sit back and get the low down on the
fastest downloads around.

Please note that your service may be down for a few minutes
between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. from January 28, 2004 through
January 31, 2004 as we install this upgrade to the system.

We hope that this work doesn’t impact your work in any way.

Part of Patriot Act ruled Unconstitutional

0

Yay! Perhaps one day the entire Patriot Act will be ruled unconstitutional (not likely, but I can dream, can’t I?). The part that was ruled unconstitutional dealt with providing “expert advice and assistance” to foreign terrorist groups. Why they decided this part needed to be removed eludes me. There’s lots of other things in the Patriot Act whose unconstitutionality are very obvious…very, very obvious.

The Evil Genius, DJ Green Lantern

0

My favorite hip-hop dj, DJ Green Lantern, has another mixtape out. This is the last in the “Invasion” series. The newest and final installment is called “The Invasion Part 3 (Countdown to Armageddon)”. You can pick it up here:

The hottest track on that album right now is “Your Hood” featuring Young Buck and Xzibit.
