Internet is back

A guy from Mediacom came and turned on cable for me again. So, I have the internet at home again. We haven’t had it here for almost one week. It’s pretty boring here with no internet or no cable T.V.

No internet

The internet has been down here at home for the last few days. For some reason, somebody from the cable co came out and unplugged our cable from the box. So, we don’t have any T.V. or internet….which is pretty boring.

Anyway, I don’t know why the cable is gone, and hopefully it’ll be back in a couple of days.

MySQL 4.0.15 Available

MySQL 4.0.15 has been released. Here’s what the folks at MySQL had to say:

A new version of the MySQL database, version 4.0.15, has been released. This is a maintenance release for the current production version (4.0), and it is now available in source and binary form for a number of platforms from the download page. As of this release, binaries for HP-UX 11i on the Intel Itanium processor, and OpenBSD on x86 are now available.

P.O.S. notebook

It looks like my notebook is dying again. I was working today and all of a sudden, the display started flashing. Then the brightness went really dark. It’s OK if I reboot, but as soon as Windows has been running for a minute or two it does the same thing. It even happens in Linux, so this tells me it’s a hardware issue. Lucky me.

I shook it around a bit when this happened and the display actually came back. Before it came totally back though, the tint of the display turned a dark red, then slowly faded back to the normal color. Again, after a few minutes, the display just goes out again. I suppose I’ll give Sony a call tonight, but I doubt they’re going to be very helpful since my warranty was up last month.
