Updates

I got my computer fixed. I’m pretty sure one of the 10,000rpm SCSI drives died when the power went out here. I installed Slackware on another hard drive and everything is running smoothly again.

I’m also going up to UNI this weekend. I’ll probably be there until Sunday afternoon.

I also made a folder on the web server to store screenshots in:
http://longren.no-ip.org/screenshots/. So, you can have a look at those if you want to. I guess that’s it until I get back from UNI.

PHP 4.3.1 released

PHP 4.3.1 has been released. Below is a quote from the PHP Website.

The PHP Group today announced the details of a serious CGI vulnerability in PHP version 4.3.0. A security update, PHP 4.3.1, fixes the issue. Everyone running affected version of PHP (as CGI) are encouraged to upgrade immediately. The new 4.3.1 release does not include any other changes, so upgrading from 4.3.0 is safe and painless.

Wireless network

Tonight, I decided to set up a wireless usb card on my notebook in my apartment. To my amazement, there were actually two usable wireless networks. The first was called ISUWAP. I couldn’t get an IP from that, so I guess I need a username/password to access it. However, the other one, called Home, gave me an IP right away. It didn’t require a username/password. I checked to see if I could get on the internet, sure enough, I could get on using the wireless connection.

My computer is broken

My main desktop computer is broken. The power went out while I was away from home this weekend. I think one of the hard drives may have been fried.

I’ll probably just install a fresh copy of Slackware-Current as soon as I get it downloaded. I’m currently downloading it at around 150kb/sec from the PSU mirror. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

My new job

I started at my new job today. My new employer is JDHost.com.

Pretty much all I did today was register websites for new and existing clients. Hopefully, I’ll get to do some web development soon.
