Stupid, stupid, stupid

I was beginning to wonder why there hadn’t been any visitors to this site in the last two days. I checked, and my dns2go client must have died sometime. Hopefully this doesn’t happen again. I’m gonna have to keep checking it every few hours or so now.

Wonderful beginning to the week

My girlfriend’s grandfather isn’t doing so well. He’s been in the hospital for the last 3 weeks. We went up to Minnesota on Sunday, came home lastnight, and will be going back up there later on this afternoon.

Good news though, when I got home, I found a nice new digital video camera sitting on the kitchen table. This thing is really fun to play with. It takes 3.5mp single picture also. It’s really nice. It has USB hookups and can take a 32mb memory card.

As for site news, I changed “Boxen” to “Rigs” in the “Information” section. I also added a “Yours Truly” part to the “About Us” section. It has a bunch of crapola about me.

Slackware 8.1

0

Slackware 8.1 was released tonight. I have mixed feelings about this. While I’m excited about it, I was hoping Gnome 2 would make it in there.

Oh well, I usually run slackware-current anyway. Hopefully Patrick will get Gnome 2 in there after he takes his well deserved break.

Linux 98% of the time

I’m now using Slackware 8.1rc3 on nightengale. I decided it’s time to start using more linux and less windows. So far, it’s been treating my very nicely. I had a bit of trouble getting the NAT working, but all is good now.

Also, after putting my new power supply in, I can now get my processors to run at 800mhz+. Before, my machine wouldn’t run for more than a day if they were over 787mhz.
